Ugh

I've had a really tough day today as killer. Yesterday I did very well. But today, I've had my ass kicked over and over and over. I think I've been running into SWF groups all day, but not sure.

What's worse, all but one of the groups that played against were also very bad sports, talking about how terrible I was afterwards. I know, this is the internet, but I just cant help but think our community would be so much better with good sportsmanlike conduct.

Of course, you can't make anyone behave that way, but... well... just been a very frustrating day today. I'm not sure what happened in one day to have so many good runs turn into so many terrible ones.

Sigh....

Sorry for the whine, just needed to blow off some steam. Guess I'll switch back to survivor for awhile.

When I get on a losing streak on either side I either play the other side or just take a break and play something different. I'll even beak out my old copy of Duke Nukem 3d and play some rounds or even StarCraft Broodwar and see who launches more nukes, me or the computers in a free for all.

My record for bad game losing streak when I was stubborn was 32+ games as a survivor never escaping at all. That was red ranks I think and lots of campers, sandbaggers, some really good killers, me getting frustrated and playing sloppy etc.

What happened is that you ran into toxic survivors with friends. They are plenty of them and it's hard to play against them because dbd developers favor them over killers. I really think they should find a solution to either give the killers more power ornerf survivors.

The game is fairly balanced right now. Survivors are not overpowered any more. They were about a year ago.
But in any game that has a party system. That team with the party will overpower the other team theres no doubt about that. You have much more information and there's no really fixing that unless you remove SWF all together

maybe if they gave the killer a bonus, something like +1% more movement for each person in a SWF team, + increased speed on recovering from missed attacks or something.

They could do that, how ever some people who 4 man SWF could also be at rank 20's and fairly new to the game. They might not be taking the game seriously and with a feature like that, it wouldn't be fair nor fun to them.

good point. So how would you fix it?

You honestly can’t fix it, bud. People grouping with friends in online games is a staple.

You can’t nerf SWFs to get the toxic pricks without hurting groups who are just there for some “fair” (a term VERY loosely used here) and good play. You can’t tie it to ranks because people will derank even more to avoid higher ranks. Humans are prone to take the path of least resistance.

It’s just one of those things we “live with”. Until the devs realize that some killers need to be viable and not just “hey they look cool and we were creative”, this is what we are stuck with.

Add a Ranked and a casual mode to the game, in Ranked you can't use Offerings and no SWF.
In Casual your rank won't matter, you can get matched up with anybody.

You still destroy the game since you already have a casual mode called KYF, people play with their friends because they want to have fun. With a random killer you get that and it's never get bored and you actually have a reward for playing.

The "casual" game mode Im talking about is you go against a random killer, it just isn't ranked. So if you lose it doesn't matter as you wont lose a pip.

The casual game mode would be same as the game is now without the pip system or rank number. I think that is what they are getting at.

KYF is against people you know and has no reward at all.

But if you go against a random killer a bunch of newbies that'd be ranked 20 could go against a killer with several k hours. That isn't going to be very fun as a casual mode and the same is true for killers facing highly skilled survivors.

You're still going to be splitting the playerbase up which is what everyone asking for a casual mode or solo mode only doesn't grasp. The player base isn't massive enough to support that type of split.

Didn't think about that, there ain't much you can do for SWF then.

Yes and since most of the player base is swf you really shoot yourself in the foot trying to solve it one way by but cause more issues the other way.
