7.4.2: Steam: Match start breaks if you open banner menu

After the "buzzsaw buzz" 5 seconds before match start, you can still open the banner menu.
If you do, it will stay open through offering reveal, and will not progress to match loading. If you then close it, you are presented with an empty campfire scene.
After waiting at the empty campfire scene for about 2 minutes, the loading screen finally appeared.
