The devs support exploits.

I mean if it becomes wide spread enough then overcharge comes back into play.

I will say I’m gonna miss idiots who constantly gen tap a gen that’s almost finished and all of a sudden 20% is gone

Perks shouldn’t be required to fix basic game issues

Gotta trust DBD players to find exploits in everything :p

Thats literally what a lot of games have. Don't like this mechanic? Use this character to counteract that. Its only really bad when the base game mechanic is THAT strong.

And this is terrible game design, I’m blaming the devs and if this comes live, blame the game not the players.

If the Gen isn't being finished that is half the point. I don't need pop if they aren't finishing the gen.
1 -
So a survivor waste 30s gen tapping? Sounds like Pop wasn't needed here.
To the title.
If the Devs support an exploit then it's no longer an exploit. An exploit is an unintended game design but if the Devs accept something, even originally unintended, then it becomes intended.

I want to quickly jump in and clarify something before things get out of hand. The "Not a Bug" status is used whenever something is found to be working as the documentation describes. It does not mean that we like it that way or that it won't be changing, and it is not to dismiss what was said as unimportant.
Things like this are important feedback and are escalated and discussed internally beyond the bug report, but the QA team cannot incorrectly classify something as a bug so long as it is doing what the design docs say.

I think the point is that they're 'dribbling' the gen. So they do 4.5% of the gen repairs, then let go for a moment, and then do another 4.5%, repeating until they're done.

This exactly what it’s, it’s like making a gen and the killer being unable to regress it further, unfortunately some people are incapable of using their brain
2 -
Well time will tell but as a comment before specified like dribbling the gen seems totally wrong as the notes state "At least 5% of the Generator’s total charges must be repaired to stop regression"
2 -
Its kinda funny. Though everybody would agree that this is just not intented, if we would just label it as tech and if it would be on killerside, everybody here would claim it to be fine, but as long as its on survivors side its an exploit.
2 -
Hmm, just a thought, maybe if you don't manage to finish up to that 5%, then that entire progress is lost? Just so you can't dribble it? I'm sure you've thought of this already but it came to mind so I had to suggest it.

Killer techs also do get patched out (take chucky's 180 flick) so I don't really understand this line of argument. This is far worse then that though since chucky gets a hit out of it, with this survivors can deny certain perks entirely.

on ptb didn't it work like if you let go before 5% completion it goes right back to where you started, making progressing by tapping impossible? did it change?

He has a valid point. There's significant double standards in the community and even the devs when acknowledging and addressing exploits on both sides.
Blight has had exploits, unintentional maneuvers and they are still not addressed.
It is very concerning that a dev was quick to engage in this conversation but they never engage when discussing Blight.
