If plaything is bugged, why hasn't it been killed switched?
Survivors cannot see the aura of the totem but killers still get to use it? Nothing but BS

some examples: flashlights making you immortal is a game breaking bug, knight vaulting a window to being able to summon infinite guards is a game breaking bug, nowhere to hide making sadako/wesker invisible is a game breaking bug, pinhead making your game crash is a game breaking bug, you know what i mean?

Does this bug make the totem invisible or unbreakable? (Sarcastic, rhetorical question)
Because if not, it doesn't stop the survivor from simply searching for it like most other totems. This is merely an inconvenience and not a game breaking bug.

The totem aura won't show. That's all.

I think it just sucks that its been bugged for awhile with no indication of getting fixed. Hopefully with the next update. I'm seeing it so much now in my games.

It was clear that it will take some time to be fixed, simply because the Devs were on Holiday as well. (Basically the same like Knight and Nowhere to Hide)
The December-Chapter is usually the one with the most Bugs, just this time it did not affect the new content, but old content.
@Topic:
While Plaything is bugged and gives an advantage (at least on its own, with Pentimento I would not really say it gives an advantage since you want people to cleanse the Plaything-Totem), the advantage is not too big to justify a Killswitch. However, I have to say, it is really annoying to see it that often, because you just know that many people play it right now because it is bugged.

Sadly, people spamming bugged things to exploit advantages isn't anything new and will always happen.

Survivors don't see revealed totems, so NOED is also bugged.
I wonder if maps or perks like Detective Hunch still work...

I'm aware of them being on holidays (as they're entitled to of course) but I know it's been bugged since early December. Knight and NTH were killswitched shortly before Christmas. I guess it feels like an easier fix than those two so I wouldn't have expected it to take so much longer but then I'm not a developer.

this mentality "the bug is not on my side, so it's okay for it to stay" just sucks. It's not game breaking, but it's just not right. I hope no one here has any intention of engaging in politics🤣 remember, what is not right for others today, may one day be not right for you

I don't have every map's totem spawns perfectly memorized so I've been stuck in entire trials unable to cleanse Plaything, and it has been awful to deal with. That it's taken this long to fix, and this long for Nowhere to Hide to be fixed, and Knight to be fixed, has been seriously frustrating.

Probably just a low priority because few killers use hex perks to begin with, but it should definitely be pulled till it's fixed. Ofc it's probably such a simple fix that it's not worth the time to killswitch it to begin with

Because the shrine is random, I think it just goes with what the algorithm selects each week.

I think they would do it if the algorithm had selected Nowhere to Hide. Perhaps Plaything's bug isn't considered problematic enough for the perk to not even be offered in the shrine.

Wasn't it when Wesker vaulted with his power that made him lose his character model?

yeah my bad

You're fine- I was just like "huh? I don't remember that"

I come from fighting games, where "if its in the game, its fair game" Bugs and glitches are part of it. If the devs thought the bug was bad enough they would kill switch it. They obviously have decided it is not, therefore, it is fair game.

The Inner Healing bug where you could use it more than once wasn't a game breaking. That got killed switched right away as soon as the devs found out about it. It didn't crash the game, didn't make anyone invisible, didn't make the survivor unable to be downed and hooked, etc. So why was that kill switched? Is it because it made the game unbalanced? I agreed it needed to be kill switched. Not being able to see your hex aura and there being no terror radius because you can't find your hex is unbalanced. I've had so many games with Plaything back to back that I stopped playing survivor and will only play killer because that bugged perk is too OP right now. There is a reason they added the ability to see the aura of that hex when you're close to it. Why was Inner Healing kill switched right away and not this one? It's the inconsistency for me.

Remember when they shadow buffed surge a few months back so that survivors screamed when the gen regressed, but still to this day have yet to address that as a bug or feature in any forum post or patch note?
I honestly could see them removing the line about being able to read the totem's aura in an upcoming patch, and somehow it wouldn't surprise me at all.

it gives you almost infinite heals, so yes, it was ´´game breaking´´

This one gives you almost infinite oblivious. With the inner heal you could still chase a survivor, down them, hook them, and sacrifice them to the entity. It didn't break the game. It just made it unbalanced, not "game breaking". We are talking about balance. So many survivors are running around with their heads cut off looking for the totem giving a huge unbalanced advantage to the killer while still having no terror radius for them. Players that are unaware of the bug and only know about the perk from it's description are expecting to see an aura so they won't look as hard for it around every corner.
I agreed with inner healing being kill switched. People are bringing this perk because it's bugged. Knowing they can exploit it just like people did with inner healing. On paper finding a totem sounds easy, but there have been a lot of games where I"m running around and I have no idea where it's at. And bringing a perk to counter a bug in the game is not the answer. You shouldn't have to waste a perk slot for it and not everyone has said perk that is behind a pay wall.
