If people use it too much it'll go on the chopping block even quicker.

Also, the majority of the playerbase is made out of console players (and they don't have access to PTB unless they keep a second account). They are probably just waiting for more "universal" feedback before deciding how quickly to deal with it.

Yeah, i won't install PTBs anymore. All issues we pointed just ignored. If devs don't care abaout our feedbacks, why we are even testing things.

We told them Sadako's counterplay is so easy, they made it even easier and nerfed her. "Shocked face"

A lot people pointed DMS is problem with GE. But ignored again.

Alan Wake perks are so bad, so many people came with good buff suggestions. Ignored.

I just give up, devs are doing whatever they want. So there is no reason to suggest changes, community have zero effect.

I'm roughly on the same boat. Dozens of time I said (and heard/read from other people) that the STBFL nerf was ill-thought-out and would just encourage tunnelling and camping more, basically ignored. Sure the Survivors can't remotely remove stacks but the perk still lost most of it's appeal and synergy with weaker/M1 Killers and is at it's strongest when camping/tunneling.

Same for the "Anti-3-gen" system. Every kick perks, even those not meant for regression (Nowhere To Hide, Surveillance, Machine Learning, Dragon's Grip, Trail of Torment) is now a liability and limited ressource that will reduce your ability to slowdown when the Survivors inevitably 3-gen themselves. Too many uses and the last gen will be harder to defend. Add regression perks to that and perk variety just took a dive. The system would be decent if it only kicked-in during the last gen (maybe reduce the events to like 5-6 to compensate) but it affects the whole trial and adds yet another thing for the Killer to keep in mind.

For the little amount of time the system was working in PTB, myself and others talked about it and nothing came of it. We literally got told that counting Nowhere To Hide/gen-kick perk uses was not a bad thing! It's not even a perk that's guaranteed to get value.

I really hope that, after console-only players (the majority of the playerbase) speak up then things will get fixed later but it's still frustrating to not even see STBFL in the watch-list.

I honestly think that most of the changes will come when the whole playerbase will have dealt with those changes for a while. Good or bad, only time will tell.

This is my take as well. DMS and PR is already a godawful combo to be on the pointy end of, but it's not game-breaking, and neither will this be.

If anything this will be less problematic. DMS + PR blocks YOUR gen and only your gen, meaning the killer also knows where to go to get the maximum gen pressure.

GE + DMS will block all gens for 12 seconds, that means YOUR gen gets the same DMS treatment, while all the gens with zero progress also get 12 seconds of block. Killer has no idea which gen to go for. You can safely wait it out or aid your team mates.

DSM + PR is also unaffected by the new regression limit, as it can only activate 4 times per match, let alone per gen. DMS + PR is still going to be the superior option, and using all three perks together won't offer any additional benefit.

I'm not understanding the melodrama here.

How are we suposed to know this? There are plenty of people here who really have this opinion. 😥

No i dont. Thats why i am firmly asking, but i already have the answer.

At least Devs are "looking into it".

There hasn't been a time over the last few years where a killer meta wasn't complained about.

I'm a killer main and even I hate it. This synergy is a big no from me. DMS and Grim Embrace shouldn't work that well together.

In my opinion gen blocking is worse than gen regression. You can work on a gen after the killer used Pop or Pain Res. But you can't when it's blocked. So basically you're running around twiddling your thumbs until eventually the gens become unblocked again.

I would be fine with the original Grim Embrace effect because it's once per game but when that happens multiple times it's just incredibly unfun. I mean, imagine if all 4 survivors were to have a 4 minutes base kit DS. Eventually you would not be able to progress in any way. Running around the map with no objective is not all that fun.

I hope they look into it sooner than later. Gen blocking is awful. Especially when its this strong.

I think the duration may be an issue, especially on killers who can pressure multiple points at once (which isn't a lot)

However, gen block is a bit more fair since it doesn't actually regress the generators, only delays for the killer to try and win more chases and remove more pallet loops. I think that's way more healthy for the game than the old gen-kick meta and 3 gen setups. Anyone who defends CI should know this to be true, since it makes early game have less pressure on gens.

I think with some adjustments, making GE prioritize the block instead of DMS for example, would be the proper step.

It's probably going to be one of the briefest metas, since it's being monitored. My guess is that one may override the other or they won't be made compatable.

well with the game having record low numbers 28k since 2020 they better hope that the new game mode brings people back or else this game is gonna be in a really bad spot.

There was nothing about MFT that led to smart or original combos, it was just a broken haste perk with no limit while injured. I was able to loops most killers pairing it with no mither and didn't feel in danger 90% of the time.

Let's not even look at DMS. Let's just look at Grim Embrace on its own.

Pain Res works with it, and forces someone off the gen, and then blocks it before they can stop the regression due to gen tapping being removed

Pop works with it with zero issues.

It is strong as ######### for camping because it is a free 36 seconds of Grim Embrace alone worth of time that survivors can't work on generators at all. The only real way to punish camping is to slam gens, which Grim Embrace does not allow survivors to do.

So you have a perk that empowers and strengthens every other S tier regression perk currently in the meta and used on every single killer, along with the most uninteresting, unfun, and overpowered killer strategy that exists in the game.

And then we add DMS, which more than doubles every single one of those strengths. Even Pop, because DMS will show you which gens were being worked on when Grim Embrace triggered because they'll be locked for longer.

This is one of those changes that very clearly was intended to incentivize hooking everyone once, but will end up making tunneling even stronger.

  • C3Tooth
    C3Tooth Member Posts: 8,266

The "earn 1 token" perks for each fresh hook survivors never work. Its still better for killer to tunnel 1 out and still get 3 other tokens later. Worked the same to BBQ, Nowayout.

If anything, 3 teammates cant progress Gens for that huge amount of time surely making tunneling stronger.

    Blocked gens don't regress.

All of these problems already exist with the current DMS, as I already explained.

Adding Grim Embrace doesn't strengthen them, it only obfuscates which gens have been worked on.

Camping has the anti-face-camp meter. If they're proxy camping you can stil pulll off a rescue.

well I don't use it as a survivor because its completely broken. I don't even see how it didn't get fixed before mft. It shouldn't worry you because its a known issue and needs to be fixed. This coming from a 100% survivor main who has never played killer in 4k hours.
