    This.

Not only that, a button could have been added to both the killer and survivor lobbies to switch to the other and save multiple clicks. It could show the BP bonus percentage beside it as well for both sides, so there's more info at a glance.

Also, they should revert the UI change that moved ranks and pips to another screen from each lobby. It wasn't needed to add clicks there just to give more use to the screen to select the banner/badge (which is kinda meh already).

There is a whole right side of the screen that you could perhaps use for the limited time modifiers?

Not without changing the entire homescreen background.

    This is a compositional nightmare:

The route they went with is far less work than designing a new homescreen that manages to frame every killer staring at the survivors from a distance.

Admittedly, I don't love the existing background but I know why it exists.

When you're stubborn and proud for your decisions that nobody wants, it's hard to take them back. Classic BHVR tactics over the years.

I hate it - I don't understand why there's an animation for the buttons to disappear only for the same buttons to reappear again with new ones below it. Feels really clunky and I don't see a point to this change. Looks and feels unfinished.

I genuinely assume this was one of those behind the scenes changes to fix some sort of exploit because of how random it was.

Edit - I see Peanits posted and it was for the new Modifiers gamemode - Alright fair enough.

Please update it though - It just feels awful to navigate and it's incredibly unsatisfying.

While cleaning up the UI is probably a good thing - especially considering there will be more elements in the future - I would like that to happen without an obligatory additional click.

Assuming that the standard way of playing the game is to either play default killer or default survivor you have to first click away the news site, just to then have to klick "Play" and then again to choose killer or survivor. That's an awful lot of clicks.

Personally, I'd prefer a tab-style kinda thing: If there are different modes/events/whatever they show on the top as tabs. Based on which you klick the menu screen changes. - That could either just be the left; all the things available in that game mode get shown. "public matches killer", "public matches survivor", "kill your friends" (imagine the "lights out" modifier was also available in kyf during the event time) - "tome [number]" OR "event tome" etc pp.

And the stuff that's always available; the archives, tutorial, store and rituals could have clearly visible buttons on the bottom, kinda like the old menu screen --- maybe not quite as large.

But yeah, possible alternatives aside: unnecessary clicks are infuriating and I actually hate it.

I like it for the only reason that imply making place for new feature :O

can't wait for the menu to be filled again :)

This new menu is godawful. More clicks is always a step backward.

Change is often met with suspicion, but for me this change is fine. It's still simple and easy to use, and actually looks fine.

No complaints here, other than this was barely a major issue to start with. However, it is neat and works well.

It's tidy, but no. Instead of two button presses, now I have three. That's a lot of work.

No. This is an instance where it's better to sacrifice form for function.

Actually I rather like having a set of buttons on the right like in your image. It's just a close-up of killer butt cheek otherwise, and you can clearly see the killer is standing there watching the survivors. There's so much real estate on both sides, the top and the bottom, that buttons could be very well setup and look easily presentable against the background. The more I look at the image the more it grows on me.

Same. The more classic looking menu was really well-done, and it left a lot of room for additions. Realistically, they could've just shrunk those square buttons by 15-20% and added a few more without changing much of anything. It makes me appreciate games that let you customize and build your own UIs.

Not necessarily a fan either, it's the last thing I would be focusing on, it was good the way it was.

Jesus Christ a dev came here and told everyone why the decisions were made about the buttons and yet people are still "devs r dum".

To everyone who posted after the developer... Read the damn thread before commenting.

New Menu is not good, have to click extras when switching role or just starting the game :/

In Japan, people are ridiculing this interface change as "Raku Raku Phone". Yes, it looks like the text and icons displayed on a smartphone for older people with poor eyesight. As I guessed by the change in HUD icon placement during the ceremony, which they tried to change in the past but were interrupted, BhVR should give up making this kind of user interface by themselves and outsource it.

There's no excuse for not just shrinking the buttons slightly to fit a new one. If something has to be hidden behind menus, make it "special lights out mode" or whatever, not the main game.
