Yet when overheat was introduced didn't everyone (even survivors) say it was way to dramatic for a killer who most said the only problems were his addons? His very design at the beginning was to be highly mobile with a one shot with little cooldown. Overheat contradicted that and took him from top 3 to like c tier. (Some people actually placed bubba above him because bubba can shred through loops easier) a good example being Otz's 7.5.0 tier list which he put him as a C-. Hell, Oni was higher than him and he doesn't even always have his power active? Clearly something with overheat was ruining his way to play. Whether it be the fact he had addons like i said that did absolutely nothing. He had a miss cooldown of like 3 seconds. They messed with his FOV and animations. Made the chainsaw louder. Ect. He just sucked to play. That was pretty much evident by how much he dropped off. So i'm glad they actually improved his flow in some way. In my opinion its one of the best reworks the game has gotten. And I doubt he's top 3. He still has to hard respect the maps. Lerys, Midwich, red forest and really any map with hard clutter hard limits his power.
Also current billys are laughing at these changes? I've seen Tats opinion. Ive seen hens (p100 billy) Rapidmain. Bronx (p100 legacy Billy). Zubat (former Billy main) Hell even people that admit they don't play him like Scott, Tru3, or Otz enjoyed him besides the cooldown being broken. So most of them agree they need to lower that only.
Also for proof on who hated overheat. Then look at the comments and see how much generally people hated the overheat mechanic.
And i think Ardetha is a good example of this with how he does his videos explaining the timeline behind the changes and he seems fairly 50/50 of killer and survivor and killer.

Just to ensure I'm don't come across as completely ignorant, I am speaking from the perspective of someone who primarily plays SoloQ.
I bring up the unwillingness to learn because the kill rates of Pig, Sadako and Pinhead are high, despite those killers struggling mightily against good survivors. I've noticed the same thing both as a SoloQ survivor and a killer, there are survivors who just don't do what they should be doing to win vs. these killers (and its not even thatbhard to understand). Then the way PTB Sadako got butchered, despite being weak, and the games by players like One Pump Willy showing people blatantly ignoring TVs, just screams of people just not bothering to read and/or act upon her damn power, I'm not pulling the accusation out of my backside. I see it a lot... and tbh I tend to get far more irritated with my solo q teammates than anything the killer is doing.
Tunneling is a strategy that bores me, and I don't advocate for doing it. However it IS the most effective way to winThe thing is this prevailing attitude of "poor SoloQ" I don't believe is helpful or even reasonable. The reality is that whoever takes the strongest stuff tends to win, and survivors are just as capable of playing cheaply as the killer is. SoloQ survivors can do very well running something like Sprint Burst, Off The Record, Deja Vu, We'll Make It combined with a strong toolbox and medkits.
The thing is whichever side you play on, if you go hard in the paint every game, you will have to keep going hard in the paint and will go up against opponents who do the same. I play off meta without an exhaustion perk when I play survivor, with the notion that if you play full meta, you'll always have to play full meta. As a result I don't that often go up against hard tunneling killers and nasty meta builds.
Usually I encounter these things I play with my sweatier swf friends, and despite them having several multiples of hours more than me, they still don't understand the killer powers, and get annoyed vs. certain killers than really are mot that hard to counter with a little investigation. I love them, but their ignorance is dumbfounding.

Overheat was widely despised by the community, and for good reason.
That mechanic was as unnecessary as Freddy's rework in 2019. When it was first announced it was immediately met with disapproval by players on both sides, especially considering the developers said they were happy with how Hillbilly was performing.
No one ever asked for Hillbilly to be nerfed, there was never a reason to. The only problematic thing with Hillbilly was the Insta-Saw add-on combination, and even that was debatable once Tinkerer got removed from the equation.
As @supersonic853 said, Hillbilly just sucked to play after his nerf. A killer often praised as DBD's gold standard fell from grace due to a change that was never needed nor asked for.

Well said.
Also i looked into that reddit page. Their main complaint was the cooldown addons. Never about overheat being removed. They even said further down its better for billy in his current version as long as they remove the cooldown addons. That plus the other videos i already showed you and im sure others youve seen in the past went overheat was revealed. I respect your opinion. But i think ill keep my killer i started with in 2017 without a hard limit or cooldown. We waited 3 years for it. Can't go back now.
