Hillbilly Steam Achievement Tracking (Bugged Feb 2024)
There is currently a bug on Steam with unlocking the achievement "The Grind" in which "In public matches, with the Hillbilly, chainsaw a total of 100 survivors."
There is a discrepancy in which the chainsaw downs are tracked getting the achievement on Steam, where some players are gaining more chainsaw downs tracked towards the achievement then they achieved and other players are gaining no progress towards the achievement.
We believe this may be due to a bug from the update to make chainsaw downs track incorrectly. We tested out the bug to confirm by having two players who have not played Billy since the January 2024 update and did not previously unlock the achievement play public Dead by Daylight matches. Both players played games in which they got ONE chainsaw down.

USER A TEST
Before playing any Hillbilly games the User A had 91 Hillbilly downs
User A (ThemboBot) loaded in with a blank loadout. No perks, no addons and no offerings
After playing one Dead by Daylight game and getting one chainsaw down (not in overdrive) User A had immediately maxed out the Hillbilly downs needed for the achievement
USER B TEST
Before playing any Hillbilly games the User B had 4 Hillbilly downs
User B (Blonng) went into a game with a full loadout (perks, addons and an offering)
After playing one Dead by Daylight game and getting one chainsaw down (not in overdrive) User B still had 4 chainsaw downs towards the Steam achievement.
User B went into a second game with no perks, no addons and no offerings.
After playing a second Dead by Daylight game and getting one chainsaw down (not in overdrive) User B still had 4 chainsaw downs towards the Steam achievement.
User B went into a third game with no perks, no addons and no offerings.
After playing a third Dead by Daylight game and getting one chainsaw down (this time in overdrive) User B still did not gain any additional progress towards the achievement.
