Whenever you damage a Generator, you also attach a tracking device to it. If Survivors start working on the Generator, their Aura will be revealed to you for 10/15/20 seconds.
The Survivors have the option to disable the device by holding down the active ability button for 15 seconds while close to the Generator.

The tracking device attached to the Generator has to be visible, something like a small red flickering thing.

    I'd also tag on "When the exit gates are powered, the control panels are highlighted when in use by a survivor. Additionally, they glow three different colors to denote their level of completion: red (low progress), yellow (halfway), and green (open)."
