Skull Merchant drone does not count as special attack (STBFL issue)

Had a game against a skull Merchant where she was spamming drones at the obsession, injuring them whilst also never losing STBFL stacks.

Wild to me that they are saying this is not a bug. Does trickster still lose a stack when he uses one knife?
