Hillbilly Changes

I'm not overly surprised that Hillbilly got some changes again but I'll be honest, the nerfed recovery doesn't feel great. Could we try it with 2.0 m/s first? That is about 1 second more that it would take the killer to catch up after the recovery, which allows that survivor to cover 4 metres of ground more than before. I feel like this would be enough and it would make him feel a bit nicer. The Greased Throttle and Thompson Mix don't need the missed chainsaw cooldown effects. They could do something different and there would be no issue.

The increased turning time is a bit weird. I'm not sure why that was done and it is a bit confusing to the people that learned curving with the 0.75 seconds but it's ok, I guess. Although there are some nasty things that the really dedicated players will be able to do with that. Like doing actual 180s.

What really pisses me off is the sound cue when the chainsaw is ready again. If that was needed for survivors, then fine. Let them hear it, if really needed (although they clearly see the change in animation and know when it's ready anyway). But playing as him with this sound is awful. I don't know why but it's incredibly irritating and it makes me really angry to hear that annoying sound over and over again. I know when the chainsaw is ready, thankyouverymuch. I don't need an extra sound to grind my gears every 10 seconds. Please, for the love of the Entity remove it. I am not joking when I say this sound actually makes me mad.

The cooldown feels a bit too strict without T mix rn but the extra curving window is insane, it's a big buff and it feels great. Can't say anything about the sound cue, didn't really notice it.

I quickly got used to the new cooldown. Even without cooldown add-ons. The nerf doesn't really feel that impactful. The curve window buff is very helpful.

So to me it feels more like he got more buffed than nerfed.

To be completely honest he feels overpowered to play as. You can still very much use your chainsaw all the time. His map mobility is very strong, you can get to wherever you need to all the time very quickly. He is also very strong in chase, you can curve around a lot of common loops. You can catch up with a lot of survivors easily and chainsaw hits are pretty common.

So i feel like he will be nerfed again in the future. Either they will make his missed cooldown much more punishing (like everyone seems to want) or add some sort of mechanic to limit how often you can use your chainsaw (like bringing back overheat in some form.

I really hope this doesn't happen and that survivors will be able to deal with him a lot better with time but it's been 2 weeks and nothing has really changed in my experience and in the statistics (from nightlight) although i suppose that will take a lot longer to show

The new cooldown feels really weird and we should try 2.0 m/s before we go to this huge cooldown like Xernoton mentioned. The new cooldown makes Billy less smooth to play which is sad. I also agree with Tatariu that Billy now has more useless addons which is really sad. They need to change/rework them. In my opinion it would even be fine when they turn one or two into more gimmick addons for fun because this is still better than useless.

The new turn-rade is a little bit akward but I'm fine with it - feels good. It needs some time to get used to but it's fine. Thus it's really akward that the developers made this change nobody asked for but I guess they think "new players need this bigger time window so why not easy change". That this may enables players to do 180s, should be fine.

Yes, the new sound for chainsaw is really annoying. Other killers have a same feature (Legion, Artist, Nurse) but for them it makes more sense but for billy not - it is not very helpful but annyoing. They should remove it or make it as an option for the killer. For the survivor, if this gives them a better awareness then it's fine. I also feel like that the developers are overwhelming killers with unnecessary sound notifications instead of helping them.

I really hope the developers won't ruin Billy again by adding a bad limit like overheat because this could kill Billy. I also think survivors still need some time to learn how to deal with Billy because in the past he was an easy to counter killer but now he is a different one and players need time to adapt to it. I agree he as a high killrate according to nightlight.gg but we, especially the developers, shouldn't only look at the killrate because this would be a mistake.
