Why is Blight 115% movement speed while Spirit 110%?

I have asked a lot of good players this question over the years (tournament players/players with lots of hours/streamers ect) and the answers I have been met with are all about the same around “I don’t know” “not sure”. I’m hoping to get a “real answer” here but I’ll take whatever sounds reasonable.

Spirit takes around 1-2 seconds to go into her power depending on add ons while Blight can instantly start his rushes and have a lot of rounds depending on add ons and each rush gives a lot of distance to traverse maps. I would even say (I might be wrong) two rushes from blight going from the same spot to the next is equivalent to Spirit’s whole phase and Blight would get there seconds faster than Spirit.

This isn’t me thinking Spirit’s base walk speed calls for a buff I’m just really confused as to how Blight gets to be 115% when both killers power means go zoom. Please someone explain, thank you! Happy Valentine’s Day 💗❤️

    They will probably nerf him hard in 3 months since he is (again) on the road map, this time it will not be just add-ons I am pretty sure (they are not even mentioned there).

    I hope he won't get old Billy treatment (his awfull reweork that made him rare killer for 3+ years).

    The argument for Blight being 115% is usually that he is map dependent. Not sure if this is accurate though.

    So what you are asking for is Blight to be nerfed? Because surely you know that Spirit isn't getting buffed. Given that she is considered one of the elite killers of the game, she doesn't need to move faster.

    I doubt. Just because he is on road-map, it does not mean he will be nerfed. It can mean QoL, bug-fixes similar to Nurse & Plague.

    I think Blight is just fine atm.

    Just make Spirit 115%, problem solved, next.

    If this was a survivor discussion you'd all be rambling about needing to buff the weaker one. But it's about strong killers so you're demanding nerfs instead.

    Blight is only stronger because he's 115. Spirit's power is stronger and if she was a 115, she'd have the top spot.

    Blight can't wound on his first rush and thus is map dependent is my thinking.

    Not every tile is good for bumping, part of the skill of Blight is to know when/where you can bump and when/where you can not bump. If he becomes a 4.4 killer, it means he has to rely on his power a lot more to score downs, and because you have to bounce first and can't freely turn around obstacles, it'd makes him vulnerable to certain tiles and maps becoming particularly troublesome for him.

    Spirit on the other hand can rely on her power quite consistently regardless of map. There is no tile configuration that prevents her using her power. Other 4.4 killers like Huntress and Hag are the same. They rely heavily on their power, so it has to work no matter how the map is configured. This is also the problem when balancing Nurse.

    I suppose the easiest way to think of it is imagine a circular loop in a wide open area. Spirit's power still works here and she remains largely unaffected. Blights power however... does not, and he can only walk the survivor down with nothing to bump off.

    If Spirit was 115, she would be better than Blight. She has the stronger power. Her being 110 is what puts her below Blight.

    I might’ve put a (theoretical) 110 Blight with his best addons above Spirit before, but not now.

    Blight's power is easier and stronger. The 5% is not going to flip-flop them.

    Because Blight is obviously BHVR's favorite and they refuse to make him actually balanced. He should be 4.4.

    spirit is soooo much OP than blight in chase tbh, blight is better because of map mobility (his power) and his speed addons (also for his power)

    How are you gonna say spirit is better than blight then start listing reasons as to why blight is better than spirit? I’m just confused as to what’s your goal here sorry if it came off rude I wanna hear your thoughts clearly

    in chase spirit is better than blight, but the game is not only about chases, and blight (like i said) is only better than her because of his map mobility and presence

    That’s very debatable tho, at a high level like if u watch comp scrims blight chases are super fast and along with his mobility he stomps spirit hard

    Her basekit power lets her be an invisible 176% killer with free movement why do you think she's 110%? I can see blight becoming a 110% as well, but there is a reason why she's 110%.

    If every loop had massive S-curves or were like the c-shaped hay bale loop on farm maps or Yamaoka/Ormond maze tiles, then I could agree with the argument of him being map dependent. Since nearly none of the maps have ALL loops designed that way, then I see no good reason for Blight to remain 115. Huntress has strong(short) and weak(tall) loops, and the mere existence of some loops being weaker for some Killers doesn't mean we should let the excessively strong Killers keep their excess strength from the norm.

    They keep blight like he is because he's hard to play (for the average player). They've only just now touched his addons which made him insanely powerful. I don't see a 110% blight anytime soon because it would alienate a lot of their playerbase.

    They alienate more players by keeping weaker Killers so far under the average, and stronger Killers (like Blight) so far over the average. Normalizing their effectiveness to me is preferable, and Blight being 110 would only have the same effect as Nurse being ~95, where once you learn the Killer you get results.

    There's a couple of reasons for this. Blight is my primary main for context.

    Hag is 110 because she doesn’t chase in a normal way. She teleports and gets the hit immediately after once you develop good reflexes and game sense.

    Ranged killers, for the exception of Trickster due to his changes, are 110 because they have, more or less, a freeform/adjustable range power. This is why it doesn’t apply to Artist who has to preplace crows and their directions.

    Nurse is slower than 110 because... well... she teleports through almost everything.

    Spirit is 110 because her power is freeform as you can get. When she uses her power, she doesn't need to worry about collision or lack of collision. She only needs to hear where the survivor is during a chase and see where scratch marks are depending on add-ons used.

    Blight is 115 because he needs to be mindful about collision and lack of collision when he uses his power. This is where the term bump logic comes in; the collective knowledge of what you can and cannot bump into and using that knowledge to create a path in order to hit a survivor. This is also why some Blight players follow a loop instead of the survivor. Additionally, not every path that Blight takes will work which is another reason why he's 115.

    The same could also be argued with Hillbilly since he needs to actively avoid collision and use that lack of collision at certain tiles and loops in order to down a survivor. Billy's curves is what comes into mind when it comes to this because you need to learn what you can curve around, what angle you need to take, be aware of the survivor's position, and so.

    I'm open to being wrong and corrected about this.

    Apparently because blight is unable to use his power in every loop, so he needs be 115% in order to loop, but considering how strong his power truly is and with the amount of bug... I mean "techs" he has, I can definitely see him becoming 110% in the upcoming balance update. It wouldn't really impact good blights but it would at least weed out the bad ones, like what happened when they updated release nurse.

    As for spirit, her power is also incredibly strong, so there needs to be a downside. If she could loop like a normal killer while her power is on cooldown, she would be too strong.

    IMO Blight has a longer travel distance/movemeent speed but much more clumsiness in his M2 while Spirit is literally a "normal" movement speedy killer that can follow the survivor's pathing and location very accurately.

    So the 115% MS is more forgiving for a clumsy killer compare to a free to move killer that Can afford a 110%. That's my take.
