Downing a survivor without being hit

I just recently got this issue when I was playing as a survivor and the killer downed me without being hit. I find this as an issue because the chasing ended to a small bug but it seems a bit unfair. The killer did not reach me and I was put into the dying state. Please fix this because it’s being happening to other players and they won’t speak up about it because it’s a ridiculous thing and it’s not fun how DbD would treat survivors like that. The killer’s melee should’ve counted as a miss and I found this issue in Ps5.
