Suggestion on how to prevent tunneling
Have in mind what I'm about to suggest won't 100% prevent tunneling (just as the anticamp mechanic doesn't work everytime), but it might help in a lot of scenarios.
Distress mode
If a survivor enters a chase for the next 60 seconds after being rescued or self-unhooking, any survivor within a 36 metres range can see their aura (even if they're afflicted by blindness). Also come up with a neat VFX on their screens to represent the distress call.
During that time grant special scores for protection hits. And if the killer slugs the survivor that came to the rescue, they get unbreakable for free if they're within range of distress.
Obviously that's no good against instadown killers, so you guys could alternatively grant gen speed or remove the speed penalty when survivors do gens together?

Idk what to think about that.
Seems they protection hit just wastes time for the killer then to be an obstacle. Since they can get back up...but only if the distressed survivor is still within range. Or I guess they could just hook the protection survivor? Idk.
Or grant gen speed to a surv who is getting chased. I don't think that's the play actually

There's actually a lot of issues with this, Bran. That's why I said it's not 100% guaranteed. The core purpose of distress is to encourage other survivors to "take aggro" while it being beneficial.
Now let's say you're playing against killers that can phase through (knight, nurse, sadako) or instadown killers, then body blocking is a waste of time.
In other scenarios, assuming that the killer is aware about the "free unbreakable" feature for slugged survivors (again, within range of distress), they'll feel the urgency to hook them, thus it prevents the tunneling.
Supposing that the devs are feeling generous, provide 100% recovery speed and a 10-second haste + endurance upon fully recovering from the Dying State.
FYI: when I mentioned the gen speed, I meant for survivors who do gens together while their teammate is being tunneled. Not really a good concept altogether, I'm with you on that.

Now let me be a little more clear if you're one of the players that think tunneling is good for the game. This whole mechanic adresses the issue of "why you're not hooking the survivor that gave you a free down in exchange for saving their friend?"
