Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Technicalities: PS4 player since dbd was free for ps subscribers. Unlocked one character with shards, paid for all other killers/survivors. Played all survivors to unlock all perks, same with killer, p3 on one survivor and p2 on almost every killer. I have not purchased latest dlc.
I want to blunt first and foremost: I dont play anymore. I dont even remember the last time i logged in or even watched a streamer play.
Also, I love this game. For all its faults, it is a potent combo of horror and competitive environment. Scary? Not really, horror nonetheless. Competitive enough to enjoy for awhile.
The maps look decent enough, even knowing the general layout entering the game when it comes to gens/totems.
The perks are decent enough to offer different ways to survive/hunt. Easy to slip into a meta mindset with perks or overpower inexperienced players, also forgiving enough to play against the grain and try other combos.
Skins have been more than adequate since i started playing. Either trying to earn them from events, shards, or buying outright my favorites.
I stopped playing shortly after the blighted event. It wasnt enough to keep me playing killer, but the extra mechanic made a difference in how the game played out survivor side mainly.
It was actually interesting to see who needed nectar, what killers would allow harvesting, and who would try to deny special hooks by keeping their distance from them. Even the summer bbq somewhat did this, when you had to consider to do the normal gen or help complete a mixer.
Killer powers vary enough to play to their uniqueness. Survivors get short handed here as there is no uniqueness once perks are unlocked, and i cant think of any survivor that is preferred to use only their perks.
That can be easily overlooked once characters start getting preferred perks.
What cant be overlooked is how simple mechanics are in the game.
Survivors must do gens. There is no secondary objective, they have no reason to be anywhere else unless searching a chest, unhooking another survivor, or trolling.
Killers must incapacitate survivors, and hook until final death. Breaking gens is detrimental to chase time, unless running pgtw or some variation.
Ive been playing seasonal diablo 3, which is the same ######### game its always been, well a little better over the years, but definitely in maintenance mode.
Why i am entertained more by that instead of dbd is because a clean slate every season mixed with some rng allows me to enjoy what i like to play and forget about the finite value of the actual game, sometimes even playing senselessly for cosmetics. Im not above that.
However, I also have multiple ways to progress to endgame, an endgame that dbd lacks.
Without varying random factors, including secondary objectives that affect the game somehow, i lost complete interest in a game that i played non stop and heavily invested in to.
I used to post consistently in forums, trying to voice my opinions to you guys, i think i just reached my breaking point where i find another distraction/form of entertainment.
Theres plenty of survivors/killers, there has been no work on the objectives, or at least something to stop the "go gen to gen, chase survivor, win/lose chase, hook/rotate gen hunt"
I cant be the only one who thinks like this? Thank you for the content so far, its been worth the money. I need more if i will continue to invest.
