Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

We need a giant update to buff the chunk of weak killers so slowdown can FINALLY be nerfed

BHVR please, buff the weak killers i beg, playing over half the killer roster feels painful without slowdown meanwhile the half that are decent and don’t need it as much just get to run 4 of them and most mistakes they make will be nullified cause their base kits are strong enough without it.

playing survivor has become so stale because i don’t even run windows and i can consistently get 60+ second loops with a build that contains only 2 chase perks (sprint burst and chem trap) against mid tier or weaker killers, but stuff like Nurse, Blight or Spirit is just atrocious to play against because even if i play well (which is difficult with how solid their powers are), all their slowdown makes up for any small mistakes they might make.

I agree with your premise. If we can buff the weak killers then we can neuter the slow down perks. Unfortunate I don’t see that happening as I get the impression that they think a lot of extremely weak killers are in a decently good spot. However a lot of those killers are propped up in stats from hard tunneling since they have to and stacking slow downs. This is why we shouldn’t put as much focus on stats for balance as I feel like we do.

I wish we would do this though idealistically. It would also have the benefit of weakening those top killers people hate so much as their slow downs wouldn’t be propping them even higher.

To be honest, there doesn't even need to be a huge overhaul of multiple killers to do it. There are only a handful of truly weak killers in general, and the only one that's substantially weaker than the rest is Trapper. Pretty much everyone else can do well with a good build (NOT a full slowdown build) and good play.

Rather, what they'd need to do is tackle toolboxes and survivor spawns. If the survivors spawn all together or in groups of two, and nobody has toolboxes, then the pace of the match is absolutely within the killer's power to affect. If they spawn spread out with toolboxes... it's gonna be a lot harder.

So, if they wanted to do a sweeping nerf of slowdown perks, the "other side" of those changes would be nerfs to toolboxes and spawns, rather than buffs to weaker killers.

Not to say that weaker killers couldn't use help, mind you, but that's more for their own sake than for overall balance.

Or literally removes the entire roster of regressions/blocking altogether, KD surely will drop like madmen and statistics will tell them the problem.

I just want the killer I play to be fun. a great example is current Sadako. She's unfun for me to play because my kit feels underwhelming. Freddy is pretty underwhelming. Demo still feels like his shred is only relevant part of the power while portals are unrewarding. any time where I feel like half my kit is underwhelming, it is not good time.

Clown for example is weaker right now then he was pre-patch but he is more fun to play because his yellow bottles are better making him feel a more complete killer. It would be nice if killer are also strong when they are complete but i think survivors that for example complaint about xyz get in the way of that. Pinky finger being good example of that in the case of clown.

Unfortunately, that is not feasable. You can nerf slowdown of course but the entire killer roster depends on these perks. And nerfing them, only leads to killers doubling down and using even more slowdown.

You can never buff killers to the point where they can comfortably play without slowdown (or even weak slowdown) simply because killers by default are heavily outpaced. It takes about 90 seconds for the first 3 gens to be completed. In that time, the killer has to make their way across the map, find a survivor and get a down. With all resources still up and exhaustion perks being ready to use. Then you also need to pick that survivor up, carry them to a hook and hook them again. Which easily takes another 10 seconds.

You just lose so much time every step of the way. Fixing this is not possible. You would need to give every killer a form of mobility so that they don't have to deal with large distances and you'd need to buff every killer to the point, where they can get a down in 45 seconds on average. Trapper can never reach that level. Neither can Clown or Myers. Their powers just don't work that way.

My argument is that even if we save some killers, it doesn't necessarily mean that others will be saved. I would argue that what is needed is a complete rework of the map, not a direct buff to killers.

Reduce the number of safety loops that can be permanently reused, increase the number of pallet loops that can go around an extra round if you win in a reading exchange with the killer, and review the loops that can be mutually stored, and make sure that there are loops that are intentionally prepared and those that are accidentally generated. Clearly distinguish.
