The Bloodmoon is so damn close to landing, but just barely misses the mark (A rant)
After completing the Bloodmoon Rift's first page and seeing that the Bloodshot Eye was killswitched, I've been asking myself a very serious question, how on Earth did BHVR succeed in ######### up such a simple event?
I want to preface this by saying that I do not intend to throw a lot of shade at BHVR, I can imagine that this event was being worked on at the same time as All Things Wicked, and that this is this year's Bloodmoon was intended to be more of a test or experiment like with Lights Out, so I can forgive the event's gameplay being rather lacklustre, that being said, I 100% want to throw shade at the fact that you said live on stream "This event will be the biggest bloodpoint event in the game's history" and then proceeded to create a event offering that, even at it's max power, will be far inferior to a full sweep of Anniversary cakes
Lets look at the math
A Anniversary Cake from year 7 gives a 107% increase to all bloodpoints gained during a match, and stacks to a combined total of 535% increased bloodpoints, The maximum amount of points you can gain in one match is 40k if we completely ignore any small BP gains from last year's Anniversary interactions, this adds up to a maximum of 214k Bloodpoints in one singular match if every player burnt a 107% cake, which was incredibly common due to how frequently cakes were being handed out
Now, let's look at the math for how much you could get during the Bloodmoon
Running under the assumption that the event category is 10k like the other categories, and please do correct me on that if I'm wrong, you could up to a maximum of 50k per match if you maxed out each category, The Bloodshot eye increases your EVENT gain by 50%, for a total of 55K, if we increase this to 200%, which is the final event community milestone...that's still only a possible 80k, 80k BP, if you maxed out every category...at the Bloodshot Eye's maximum power...which we are not at yet
Of course this is currently entirely hypothetical because apparently nobody at BHVR thought to check to make sure the offering worked during the extra month they delayed the event by, causing the Bloodshot eye's bonus to be 0%, eating up other BP increasing offerings in the process and resulting in the thing needing to be Killswitched on day goddamn 1
Like...How do you manage to screw that up, that is a serious question by the way, how did you manage to screw up not only the offering, but the math as well, I can get 100k easily from a standard DBD match with a Survivor pudding and someone else burning a BPS, 80k for maxing out every category is pathetic in terms of gains when you can get at least double that in your sleep during a Anniversary, that massive gap between 80k and 214k is only going to get wider btw, since this year should have a 108% cake, which would make the math go 540% increased BP gains
Thankfully though, this is really easy to fix, simply make the offering affect ALL BP categories and make it stack, that way the math would go 250%, 500%, 750%, and finally 1000% BP at each of the event milestones, which would actually be the insane BP Bonanza that BHVR promised, which would make up for the fact that the event's gameplay, which a neat gimmick, isn't super interesting, blame Haunted By Daylight for setting a new standard but I was really expecting the Blood Zone's to be more impactful beyond longer lunges and free Iron Will
Like, I want to like this event, and I do, I like the aesthetic and the outfits are really neat, but the gameplay is just kinda meh, which I would have been completely down to forgive if the BP gain was as insane as the All Things Wicked stream led me to believe, the lackluster gains and the fact that I've already gotten all of the challenge done just gives me no real reason to play right now, which sucks royally because, as I said, I like the event's aesthetic
G'night, please fix the offering and make it actually better then the Anniversary Cakes BHVR

I love the math but where does it say that the blood shot eye increases BP gain by 50%? I double checked the offering and no where does it say it increases the blood point gain. the only mention of 50% is 50% extra speed when doing event actions.

This was also mentioned in the livestream. Not the exact percentage (as far as I know), but that the offering would increase the BP gain even more. The fact that it's not mentioned in the description might be an oversight.
It would've been nice if the BP bonus had started at 150% rather than 50, and gone up to, say, 500% or something. Now that's how you make "blood points rain down upon your players"!

from my experience if it doesn't say it in the perk description it likely doesn't do it lol but I guess only bhvr can confirm this. I mean they also said in the live stream it would be Mad BP gains but we all know that wasn't the case.

Is there even a point to use the new eye ball offering? Seems completely useless as it just makes finding and interacting with the new event things slightly easier.
In game event stuff is meh, cosmetics are neat. Really hate all the red stuff that's all over the gens, hooks and event ring. Make it easy to mistake it for scratch marks. Blood Point gains aren't impressive maybe will see how good it'll be once that progress fills up for more BPs %.
The haunted event with the entirely new realm with the ghosts still be my favorite.
