Why Can’t Dead Hard Have Three Uses?
Title.
Weird it doesn’t at least start the game activated. Would it be too excessive to at least have it in the beginning? The problem with the initial nerf was that it was infinite after exhaustion like Sprint Burst. This is the only instance where it doesn’t work like any exhaustion perk. I feel not having it at every state of the game is odd.

first chase deadhards are silly and being able to take a 2nd hit without going down in one of the most volatile points in the match means it would be heavily unbalanced

Considering how important the first chase is to determining the rest of the match, yeah it would probably be excessive.

The problem with old dh was the first chases being ruined by having to wait for the perk, even if the survivor didn't have it, and since your first chase was so important, yeah, i think it would be too strong to have a charge at the start.

Let’s focus on buffing the bad perks, not buffing an already top 10 meta perk. The perk is already ridiculously good and game swinging.

The answer to your question is "yes". It would be excessive if it was active at the start of the match. That was what was learned over several years of testing. I think dead hard is in a good place now. It still sees use and can be game changing. But killers don't have to worry about their first chase being extended an extra 40 seconds out of no where.

I'd bring back old DH to combat the tunneling meta atm. It can revert back to the miserable husk we have now after. It wouldnt stop it ofc, but it's make getting tunneled less painful lol

Even with the nerf, the DH is a joker that, if activated successfully, can reopen the chase and tilt the game significantly to the survivor's side. In general, a 3-40 second increase in the chase is worth 1-1.5 Gen1 units. Increasing the activation conditions is good, but they have to be somewhat strict.

How would it combat tunneling if you haven't been hooked yet? That just makes early game harder on killer for no reason.

Hi, because the days of killers having to worry about swinging at a survivor when the game literally just started is over. Plus the first chase is essential having at prolonged by E is very annoying. That’s why I always bring a styptic when I play survivor

DH being available at the beginning of the match/in the first chase was one of the biggest problems with it. Even with 2 uses it can still be a game-changing perk.

The whole purpose of the nerf was to make dead hard more limited and not affect the first down the killer often needs to get as soon as possible to get the pressure going. Dead Hard is still one of the strongest survivor perks and should never again be stronger than it is now.

I feel like the exhaustion is still sort of required just to stop stacking DH into another exhaustion perk, like you take a hit with DH and then get to lithe or balanced across the map I just don't think that'd be all too funky.

Why on Earth would anyone want to see DH buffed in any capacity?!
This perk was such a massive problem in DBD for many years and it is still very strong, potentially giving a survivor two extra health states per match and if you consider with SWF that could be x8 and there is no way this should be buffed.

Old DH justed need you to be injured to work. Hooks had nothing to do with it. If it was like that now, the first chase would last longer, and there would be a lot less tunneled martyrs. Its probably more of a personal want, but dammit, I want it lol.

But that doesn't prevent tunneling, that just means every single survivor is harder to catch

Right. Totally the point. It makes it more difficult to tunnel. It buys more time, and makes 3E's more likely. If a tunneler gets 1k, It's considered a survivor win.... But not to me. You have to make your own fun sometimes, and mines been trying to get 4E's when its tunnel time (Which was more than 50% of my games yesterday.)
I might have turned a new leaf. I hate seeing tunneling so often, but I like it when its the right call for a killer due to game situations. I dunno, maybe its growing on me like some blight serum or something.

First Chase Dead Hard would be insanely overpowered. It's still a very VERY powerful perk. Sure it's not that great against the OP Killers like Nurse or Blight since they can nullify the distance you gained instantly but against every other Killer Dead Hard is insanely impactful and can extend a chase considerably. 3 uses would just be too much.

I disagree! DH has been the staple counter to Blight for me, specifically. I'd be curious if others have similar experiences?
With Nurse, yeah, just saves you like 4-5 seconds at best. I feel ya lol
I know it would be busted again, but it doesn't change that I want it lol
