Wiggle bar disappearing (PC)

When carried by the killer, my wiggle bar disappeared, and the prompt to click spacebar disappeared too. This seemed to happen when the killer hit another survivor while carrying me, but had no perks that would interact that way (particularly Mad Grit, I checked in endgame lobby).
Steps:
- Boot the game
- Enter public match as survivor
- In-game, get downed and picked up (in endgame collapse, unsure if relevant)
- Get carried to hook (on death hook), wiggle to 40% progress
- Killer strikes another survivor
- Wiggle bar disappears, no prompt to continue wiggling, survivor goes limp and no longer struggles
Additional info:
- Played as Gabriel
- Perks included: Adrenaline, Object of Obsession, Iron Will and Windows of Opportunity
- Map was Coldwind Farm, Torment Creek
- Frequency: first time this has happened to me
