This rework only makes me believe the Twins can't be fixed. They are unsalvageable.

The twins have the lowest pick rate in the game… and after the rework, I believe they will continue to have so, because it seems to focus on only two issues: the slow clunkyness and the slugging snowballs (it doesn't even fix the slugging itself), while the Twins have many more issues beside those, which goes to show how crazy it is that they got released how they are.

For a starter, the rework makes the Twins a little less unfun to play against by taking away their strenght at slugging… but it doesn't fix the NEED they have to slug. 10% movement speed bonus is insanely good on a chase, but when it comes to reaching a survivor that can be on the other side of the map, people will still prefer not to go there and use the extra speed to chase someone else as Charlotte instead. You will still down a lot of people and not pick them up. The Twins will still have to slug, they will be just worse at doing so, and Twins games will still be quite long (possibly even longer in average now, since those games where they quickly win via snowball won't happen anymore). The only possible fix would be to allow Charlotte to TELEPORT to the survivor Viktor is attached to, seriously. But I doubt that will ever be done.

Sure, the developer update didn't seem to tell everything, since it never said what Viktor does to a downed survivor he is attached to (I mean, it can't be JUST the speed for Charlotte, right? If he is on a survivor, he must be affecting them in some way, and the update doesn't explain that), but no effect on a downed survivor can fix this problem: if they can't recover or can't crawl while Viktor is crushed, it makes no difference for the time it takes to get to them (it would also make slugging even worse for the survivor. Imagine being downed but also stuck in place). And also… how long will it take to crush an attached Viktor now? If it's an instant kick, then it won't be different from downing a survivor and then being kicked by another one.

And then, the announced rework doesn't seem to try to fix their many other issues:

  • Viktor will STILL be kicked in the face everytime he misses a pounce, so Twins will still be incentivized to play as careful and safe as possible with Viktor instead of trying for long, riskier jumps.
  • That also means mistakes and misses will STILL be more punishing on Twins than on any other killer, and it will still be awful to bump into things… in a game that only gained more clutter and more invisible walls through the years.
  • Viktor will STILL sometimes bump into things outside of his field of view, unless changes are made to either his FOV or his hitbox.
  • Survivors will STILL be able to prevent a down by entering a locker (Viktor is not close to Charlotte all the time). Also, want to waste Viktor's time? Just enter a locker when he starts charging his power, leave the locker when he stops to open it. If latency is not on his side, he won't be able to stop you from leaving and it can be quite a headache.
  • Viktor's pounce will STILL be awful to use at stairs and elevations. That affects other powers too, but damn, it's Viktor's ONLY attack and he is kicked if it fails.
  • And finally, the Twins will STILL be the buggiest killer in the game. I don't see that being fixed any soon either.

Yeah, I like that releasing Viktor, switching characters and pouncing will all be faster, the few existing Twins mains will probably love that, but that only fixes the clunkiness, which is not the only reason why the Twins are so unfun to play as.
