How to get more players to spend REAL MONEY on the game, without being intrusive!

What is this thread about?

This thread is about improving the current earnings-system in a non-intrusive manner, that allows everyone to enjoy the store as it is currently and only adds to the options paying customers have.

We will look at successful models and tricks game-developers have used that have not received any backlash (cough EA) and motivated customers in making purchases otherwise never made.

Personalised Card-Sale Events.

This is a sale that uses personalised prise stunts to motivate people to purchase their best "Cards".

How it works:
Whenever there's a special event, the player can open a tab in the story that shows them (let's say 5) amount of cards. They can flip all 5 cards that contain an older skin with a (pre-programmed) random %-off. Among the %-off there will always be 1 high number, a few middle numbers and a few lower numbers.

You can press the card and purchase the skin at a lower price.

The power of the Personalised Card-Sale trick is that it's personal! Really motivates you to make a purchase for a skin you find decent, but otherwise not sale-worthy!

Red Cells

Red Cells is very similar to Auric Cells, but are Red instead.
A recent suggestion from Azralynn (youtuber & Twitchstreamer) was to make the "ranking" system more valuable by awarding Auric Cells as to prevent deliberate de-ranking.

This of course is a dangerous idea as it allows people to buy the skin they want eventually even if it's auric cells exclusive.

This is where the Red Cells idea comes in.

Red Cells:

Red Cells are a currency awarded at the end of a "rank" season to the players. Red Cells can be used to buy skins at the same cost as Auric Cells.

For example: Something that can be bought for 500 auric cells can be bought with 200 Red Cells + 300 Auric Cells.

The only difference between the 2 is that Red Cells have a CAP, similar to blood-points. This cap should be low enough that no auric cell exclusive purchase can be made with Red Cells alone.

Instead, when you earn Red Cells, you can't do anything with them until you have bought Auric Cells, at which point you have more cells than you would've had normally.
When making a purchase, Red Cells are consumed first.

Red cells also accumulate very slowly.

People have a tendency to utilise opportunities. When they have Red Cells they technically have real money, but not enough to buy anything with it alone.

Red Cells therefore is something that the player wants to spend after they have ranked a couple of times. This can help motivate them to make their first in-game purchase, which is often the biggest step to overcome leading to continuous purchasing behaviour. (no pun intended)

Clothes in the Bloodweb

Cosmetics appear inside of the bloodweb as ultra rares. This random cosmetic allows you to turn on that cosmetic for 1 game after which it is consumed.

Inside of the menu tab for clothing, the costume that is a 1 time only has a special icon to remind you.

This will allow you to test out certain costumes and have fun with them once in a while and reminds players that there might be skins that they don't have yet but would want to have.

A bonus could be added to this blood-web item of whatever nature to have it be more of a benefit that just cosmetics, similar to the idea behind the killer-offering.
