Deranking

I’d like to address how bad deranking has affected our community. First I think we all know is that if someone just bought the game and wants to play a match well then there’s most likely going to be good people at rank 20 because of deranking. And I know it hasn’t happened yet at rank 20 but I’m a rank 5 killer and I go up against rank 8’s who have the best load out and who know every loop spot and stuff like that. And because of that I “think” I should be rank one if I’m going up against people that have the skill of rank one. And there’s no point in having this rank system if people just derank. So, I have a solution (in a way). I was thinking that if the developers of DBD can somehow make a stats system but keep the rank system and say you get matched up against people of your skill level than that would be way better. So that means if they derank it won’t do anything, except make them look trash when they go up against people of their skill with a low rank. Just a suggestion but I hope the community reads this and follows along with it.

Please leave a comment suggesting a different solution so we can think of something do-able

So you want a matchmaking based upon your playtime, not a ranking system.

There's no real way to combat deranking.
Base it on playtime, That'd be a whole big mess since skill level does not equal time played.
Base it on any gameplay aspect, people will just fail at the tasks required and derank.

Yeah, the devs ranking system is bullcrap. You have people in rank one who shouldn't be there and people in lower ranks who should be in rank one. It's  absolute garbage. I was providing a ranking/surviving analysis on my games, however they took it off here for some reason after I posted it for review. Not sure why. Maybe it is because they don't want to fix it.

Skill level does not equal to time played.

But more often than not, the guy with more hours is usually better than the guy with less hours.

There is an easy way to combat deranking.

You give an actual reason to rank up. Any other competitive game manages to do that and I have never occured deranking issues in other games beside DBD

Yup. And make ranking up harder.

Agree with ninja 100%. One option could be implementing an MMR/ELO system which could help place people at the proper ranks in a much faster time span.

We need a proper ELO system that places people at the proper ranks in a much SLOWER pace
