All it did was transform some facecampers into (more effective) proxy campers. Trickster, huntress, bubba feel right at home with this new system. You happened to go down against trickster? Good luck dodging his main event when you're unhooked lmao. Meanwhile singularity for some reason loses his power for 6 seconds if he dares to use his cam within a mile radius of the hook. Lazily crafted anti camp solves no problem with camping, it needs substantial rework.

It solved facecamping, which it was supposed to do. It enabled nothing that was not already possible before. So there is no reason disable it. Some changes could be OK, for example giving teammates information about it being active or charged.

Sometimes killers have to proxy camp someone to get pressure back when they're losing, I know I do
BHVR had this in mind when they made that system. It punishes only toxic facecampers that want to smack you on hook repeatedly, without punishing killers that have fallen behind and are using the camp as a strategy.0 -
No I don't think so... You should know when you are being face camped and your team as well... Everything else defeats the purpose, which is to slam gens and then unhook yourself at the last second once the meter is filled... I don't see anything abusable there. The killer is doing an action that this system is trying to prevent, so how could any abuse happen in the first place?

Literal facecamping was never a problem in and of itself and was sub-optimal. Whatever the system intended to fix, either didn't need fixing or wasn't fixed at all. You can still facecamp with extra steps - some killers are able to straight up ignore it. The bar can be filling when you're above or below the hook with no direct path/access to it or when you need to traverse through the hook because it is the best path to wherever you're heading to. And the other way around - you can avoid filling the bar by choking the only point of access to the hook. This is not limited to indoor maps. You pointed out yourself that it doesn't even give any information to teammates. Poorly bodged together system with no nuance does not solve anything and arguably causes more problems than before.

wasn’t unfair at all. if it fills a little bit, whats the difference if you’re not camping? there is none, it is all hard copium. it rewards people who camp and people who have no other play style other than to camp and make every unhook a trade. go find another surv and learn to play the game is all i have to say. good day.

It's arguable if facecamping was an issue, they butchered Billy and gave Bubba an overheat because they thought facecamping was an issue, and back then people really complained a lot about, so I would not say it was not an issue. I agree that it was not optimal, but I don't think anybody ever said it was?
Since you seem to disagree about what face camping is, because face camping cannot be done without activating the anti face camp unhook, over a longer period of time. Face camping means standing directly in front of the hook, 20cm away... Not camping via range or camping a choke point, but being right there in front of them, and this is not possible anymore without granting the survivor a self unhook. Therefore the system did what it was supposed to, as I said before, the system could be optimiser, but that's not the point.
The system does not fill as much or maybe even at all when on different floors, that issue was already addressed. I mean sure it can be annoying when you need to go through there to get somewhere, but just passing by should not lead to too much of an increase in the meter should it?

For the record I spread hooks and play hook related/gen related survivor. Never had the anti-facecamp be an issue because I don't facecamp or get facecamped.

idk what you want me to say? i get face camped on the regular and the anti camp mechanic is so bad killers can just stand 8ft away from you and by the time you have the opportunity to unhook you’re basically dead. then on the off chance you do manage to unhook, they hit the bt off you as soon as your feet touch the floor and tunnel you out the game. fun. 🤩

If the killer is standing away from the hook, you are not being facecamped.

The point that you are missing is that timers don't tick down when the player hasn't had time to do anything about it yet. If the timer started during the hook animation survivors would lose 2-3 seconds off the 60 second hook states.
Same reason the anti-camping feature doesn't kick in before the killer hasn't had a chance to start camping.

You only need 1 person and a brain to unhook a survivor now with the worst thing that can happen being a 1 for 1 if you don't play it well or they have an instadown. Anti facecamp does its job forcing the killer to play further away allowing you to get in and unhook a survivor without hook grabs etc.
