How many more killers and survivors are we going to get?

DBD already has a pretty expansive roster of killers and survivors at this point in time. Just how far do the devs plan to take this? Have they made any mention of a certain limit or are they going to just keep going and going until we have dozens of survivors and killers?

There's no limit set in stone, YET. Due to the common trend of getting killers every three months or so there'll be a new addition. And by killers, I meant DLC altogether. Four DLCS every year; with many patches to come.

I think that it is fine that they keep going. Something new every few months is not soo bad.

I like it aswell. New content so long after release is a good thing and keeps this game interesting however it is starting to have an adverse effect on the progression system as a whole in my opinion. The grind is becoming more and more immense with each new set of perks and characters. I hope the devs do something about the increasingly polluted bloodweb because spending 50k points to get 1 tier of 1 perk in the sea of all the perks is starting to drive me crazy.

That might suck for newer players, but we can say that almost all the meta perks are from characters that are free or you can unlock from grinding, the only perk that is paid and that is somewhat meta is Barbeque and Chilly.

A newer player could just get the perks he/she wants, and then unlock new characters as he/she sees fit so he/she can get perks that he/she wants fast.

Older players will probably have a lot of perks unlocked, so that when a new character comes out, the grind might not be that bad, but getting the perk you want on a killer/survivor that is new, that might take a bit of time to unlock the perks you want from all the perks u have already unlocked.

Eventually, it will slow down as they may stop to rework current killers when/while other aspects of the meta change over time.

Example: MOBAs regularly rework heroes. League of Legends has famously destroyed a few champions with unnecessary reworks (lelKat/Karma).

On top of that, I doubt they'll adhere to an ironclad time frame if they don't feel the killer is fun or interesting enough. I know people are disappointed with Legion, but he's got a few interesting concepts that set him apart from the rest of the killer pool. Given how he functions, he would likely be one of the first to change if the core game ever drastically changes from what it is currently.

We don't know yet but I have heard it somewhere that they want at least 18 killers in the game.

MCote said he wants this game to stay up for at least 5 more years. So if it's 4 DLCs each year that means at least 20 more killers and survivors each? I'll be pretty heartbroken whenever the final day for this game comes though.

So long as the game is maintained properly i see DBD having the potential to stay alive for a very long time. If DBD can maintain steady playerbase numbers like l4d2 can then it will continue to be supported. L4d2 manages to get a mix of 15k - 25k steady and i feel DBD is fully capable of that aswell. I expect to still be playing DBD 10 years from now in the same way i play l4d still.

The Left 4 Dead franchise has 2 record selling games made by the ever famous Valve, with huge promotion and a dedicated modding community.

Dead by Daylight’s success is tiny in comparison.

There's confirmed 1 more dlc before the end of the roadmap.
Future is unknown. (but let's be real there's gonna be more chapters)

    From recap.

"Next year will not be quiet for us as we plan to make the game even bigger and bolder. 2019 is going to be our most ambitious year ever. It will be filled with improvements and tweaks, of course; it will bring dedicated servers, as promised; a lot more content, more chapters and quite a few impressive surprises. We are, more than ever, committed to show appreciation for our amazing community and humility in learning from our mistakes."

"A LOT MORE CONTENT, MORE CHAPTERS AND(...) SUPRISES"

You need about 1.5M BP for one run level 1-50, so about 6.0M BP per P3. Divided by 90 days means that you have to farm 60-70k BP per day to keep pace if you only level one side (killer or survivor) and 120-140k BP per day if you want to max out both sides. The first goal can be done in 3-4 games if you do your daily rituals (so around 60-90 minutes per day), the second one needs 8-12 games. Party streamers and high-score games cut this down rapidly, and double BP events boost your progress greatly.
So, if you concentrate on only one side, keeping up with new content is no problem as long as you play a little each day. I actually did the math because I want to P3 every killer and wanted to know what it would take to not only keep up, but actually level the old killers as well.
