Is the Were-Elk Skin a Male Cosmetic?
Basically the title, I'm a dude, I like to play dude characters but to each their own. Just wondering if it is a male character and if so I'll purchase it because it looks awesome.

it’s got a different lullaby and it sounds male.
Though that might just be because it’s a were elk and elks just have deep voices.
I have seen the theory that it’s actually Huntress being cursed and in were elk form - it’s got the huntress mask on its back and apparently some pieces of cloth that remind of Huntress‘ dress.
so.. can’t be directly answered. For me it’s cursed Huntress and thus female.6 -
Dang yeah that's what I'm wondering, but just realised that female elk do not have antlers so it might actually be a dude after all

Either way u should get the skin. The elk look cool but more importantly just sound way more quieter than huntress in all aspects. Sometimes I swear you can't even hear the elk pull up the hatchet. Maybe i tripping only went against a few so far.

It’s wearing a dress so it was a woman at some point. It’s most likely the Huntress because it’s always been heavily hinted at her being a supernatural creature in her lore anyways lol.

actually. It’s an Elk. Not a reindeer.
Elk cows do not have antlers so that should be confirmation it’s male!
Clothes and mask can then just mean that Huntress was actually a victim to this wereelk from that universe

Yeah, you cannot hear the Elk pulling up a Hatchet most of the time. And I think this will probably be changed in the future, I would highly recommend that people dont buy the Skin for this because I would be surprised if it was not changed. There is a sound queue for a reason and it being so quiet that you cannot really hear it is more of a Bug than anything else.
And it is better if people dont get too upset about it when it gets changed if they bought the Skin for this alone.

Why do you even care if the skin is female or male? If you like the skin, then get it. Its gender is wholly irrelevant.

I don't want to sound rude, but why is it weird to ask "What gender is this character (skin)"? Like that character clearly is very different looking and sounding than default Huntress or how Huntress usualy sounds or look like even with different outfits. There are people out there that care about gender and sexuality for their favorite characters.
And why just not answering OP when taking your time writting something and helping the OP with such simple question for someone who (probably) allready knows the answer. If you don't know the answer that's fine ofc but maybe add it there if you are not sure because this looks like OP is bad for asking simple question and curious question. I feel kinda bad for OP honestly.

OP seems to imply they consider buying the skin because of the gender of the character changing from female to male.
Not sure if that was the intention, but that's kinda how it reads.

Even if OP would only buy it if the skin is female Huntress, its fine, it's their preference and choice, their money. They still have the right to ask the question. Nothing bad about it. 100 people = 100 preferences.

I really dislike the premise of the question by OP, but I have to say, this flavor text does not confirm the skin is male. "He" is referring to some traveller who encounters the "beast", not the were-elk.

yeah like why would it matter. If you like the design then buy it. It's just weird to me that someone won't play as huntress, plague, twins, artist, pig, the nurse, sadako, the hag, and the spirit because they are women. The only one I can understand is skull merchant.

I'll sound rude. Pretty sad example of a community manager to respond to a question in such a way, question wasn't rude or breaking any TOS. Another prime example of how BHVR has no idea how to interact with their community like adults.
