No progress to challenges unless basic M1.

That's not necessarily a bug, just a poor wording of the challenge.
"Hit a Survivor with your weapon" means a basic attack or M1. The same happens when you're playing Legion and hitting Survivors in Feral Frenzy. These are power hits too and won't progress the challenge.
Nurse's blink attacks were changed to count as special attacks / M2 a while ago.2
