Are more skilled survivors/killers more likely to use exploits?

With the new bug with a certain perk going around i've noticed most of the survivors using it aren't your casual player trying to just have a fun game. They are mostly survivors that are more skilled at the game and want to use any edge to get ahead. I guess it makes sense since if your a casual player half of these bugs you might not even know about. Also most of these players know the logic of how BHVR could just kill switch stuff that's broken so saying "it could get you banned" falls on deaf ears if you know how perks and map bugs work in regards to BHVR reports. Its surprising because all these players whenever these bugs come out know what they are doing but with how relaxed the system is now they know they are safe unless its something very bad. Its unfortunate.

I do think it comes with boredom and overexposure to the game.

Dbd is very repetitive. Some people, that play this game for a really long time get bored. Sadly some of them try to fix this problem in abusing bugs.

Sure it's fun to glitch out of the map or have an infinite toolbox, but this is not a pve game.

I mean people who want to win the most tend to be more likely to abuse stuff that will get them more wins, even when it's an obvious exploit. Look at how many people were using the flashlight-locker exploits ages ago.

I don't think there is a link there. Using exploits is scummy, end of story.

I'd expect most skilled players don't do it.

Competent player usually get a thrill from the effort and the display of skill.

Exploiters don't win : no cheater wins by definition as they are not playing the game under the same rule as the true players..

It would come as a surprise to you that comp survivor players are using this exploit a lot. And comp players are leagues above the skill of pub warriors, not because they are incredibly good but because pub players are incredibly bad at the game.

So yes skilled players are using this, I think its a similar case to what happens in speedrunning, which is the people more likely to cheat ironically are the ones that are incredibly good at the game.

To be honest it had the opposite effect on me.

I'm nearing 4k hours (omg) and I'm terrified of breaking any rules, even unknowingly. Because I poured too much time and money into my account and it's very valuable to me. I think back then I would feel less frightened.

I'm even scared to use bugged perks that haven't been killswitched just to stay safe.

You will NOT see me getting reported! 🤓

I don't know if there's a correlation between being good at the game and abusing broken features or not. I can believe that there's a correlation between being really sweaty and abusing broken features, because that's the exact thing a sweaty person would do. My prediction would be that sweaty people who are frustrated by their win/loss ratio would be the ones to do this, and I think they could be playing at any level.

Not really, and I know this first hand during the locker glitch days when I think my MMR wasn't too high.

people more involved with the game are more likely to learn about it in the first place.

and people who want results will use them regardless of skill level.

I believe this is all the correlation one can find.

There is a strange phenomenon in speed running where exceptional players are actually more likely to cheat, and it's born out of sort of sense of deserving to win after playing the game over and over to get really good at it.

I imagine some mix of that, and also a certain level of boredom and a desire to find/try new things to play with is at fault here. If a trick is complicated and tricky, it becomes more interesting doing the trick than the enjoyment of winning the game legit.
