Hex and Boon Totem rework
So, I equally play as killer and survivor. Not an exact 50/50 but it's close. I have a suggestion for totems and how hex and boons work. Current issues:
Hex totems are the most RNG aspects of this game and often makes me not want to run them. You could get a great hex location, or you can get the worst spawn location where you know your hex will be gone in a matter of seconds.
Boon totems can be re-lit over and over again as long as a totem is not cleansed and a survivor can pick where they want their totem to be. It has a much lower RNG. The only thing random is the location dull totems spawn. You can't make boons very powerful because they can get re-activated multiple times and a killer can't get rid of that totem unless they bring a certain perk that I never see a killer run - and I think I ran the perk once when it first came out. Right now there are only 5 boon totems that are currently in a weak(ish) state.
Suggestion to solve this issue is to treat them both the same. How does that work? Here is my suggestion:
Get rid of dull totems all together. Instead have locations that totems can be placed. Have it so a killer can place their totem in any location where a totem would normally spawn. Do the same for boons on survivor side. Have it so when a killer gets rid of a boon - it destroys that totem and don't make boons something that everyone shares. Circle of healing can be that you can heal yourself at 100% speed and you heal others faster (or maybe not that last part). Make exponential where you can pick yourself up at anytime and you bring others up faster. Shadow step I'm not sure how that would work, maybe that would be the only one with a radius but maybe make it bigger? And don't let boons stack.
Certain hexes would be RNG like NOED can still randomly spawn at any totem location, same with plaything and any other perk that makes a dull totem a hex on its own. I don't know what you would do with pentimento with dull totems being gone though. I mean, obvious some boons and hexes would have to be look at on an individual bases. Or maybe it doesn't work at all where there are no dull totems, so then we have dull totems - but you can still place your boon or hex in it's place. Survivors can cleanse it completely and killers can just snuff it and it goes back to dull but a survivor can't boon again.
