Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Chucky Needs Something To Make S&D Scamper Worth Of Being Used

After reading the Developer Update I was happy to look at all the Chucky changes, it's something that as a Chucky player who played his whole PTB till it was closed and took him to P 100 I think it's healthier for the game… but I think he needs something to make him actually fun and/or worth of being played. With these changes he's literally a Pig who call the survivors names, with the difference that Pig is still 4.6 m/s, no cooldown at all and even has a base-kit time waster.

The main issue of Chucky, expecially after the choice of removing the flicks, is that Slice & Dice into Scamper is too situational and not a viable tool, expecially in chase (unless Scamper Cancel, but something inside me tells me you're going to address this "Tech" in the 8.0.0 patch). I figured out two main ways to make Chucky more fun to play again, expecially with these changes you're going to bring to him:

1) Reintroducing flicks and making these possible for controller players: Billy can literally 180° around every tile at an incredible speed, with an instadown power that has no cooldown (the opposite: it gets stronger the more you use it), while being 4.6 m/s (and he even has an add-on that allows to break pallets. Even Blight with some add-ons can turn a lot mid-power, other killer considered Top 3. Allowing Chucky to have more control on the attack mid-Slice & Dice wouldn't look unfair in comparison to these killers, it would require time to get mastered and it's jukable by survivors who see that kind of attack incoming. When flicks were a thing Chucky was really popular and appreciated by many in the community, so reintroducing this mechanic now that Scamper got rightfully changed would be ideal and kinda fair and fun to make Chucky an interesting killer to play and learn again.

2) Uncapping the direction of Slice & Dice for a short window of time after a Scamper: In this way you can actually have control on your own power after Scampering and choosing the direction of your S&D instead of being forced at facing forward, thing that would make Chucky being only punished for attempting to use this mechanic (A survivor can just go behind him when seeing him in Slice & Dice after the vault to completely counter him). The main issue of this is that it would feel less interesting/skill intensive than the flicks and giving less counterplay on the survivors side, I feel, that's why reintroducing flicks in an intended game mechanic looks like the healthier and more fun way to address the situation.

I do really hope that a solution to make S&D into Scamper a viable option is going to be considered before launching the live version of the 8.0.0 patch: Chucky has since the beginning the potential of being one of the best designed killers in the game, tied to such an amazing license. Now that his most frustrating point at facing him are addressed, it would be nice to have more fun options that make his replayability and skill ceiling higher, rewarding his dedicated players for investing time at playing him and going for unique and more skill intensive plays.
