In Talbot's story, what is the connection between the Doors to the Unknown volume and the "human quotient"? I'm totally confused about the chronological sequence. Talbot was hit over the head with a pipe, dumped in a corpse pit. What happens next? If he woke up in an opium den after the events with the monks, how could he continue his serum research in the fog?
Can someone help me reconstruct the whole sequence?
