New Stats! (April 2024)
Stats | April 2024
By PeanitsLast Updated: 4:06 pm
What is that? It’s The Unknown(‘s data). In its debut month, The Unknown climbed to a 64% kill rate and a 10% usage rate.
An average of 5.76 hallucinations were dispelled per match. If you’re having a hard time facing The Unknown, be sure to dispel those hallucinations! Dispelling hallucinations prevents The Unknown from teleporting to them.
As with any new Killer, The Unknown shot to the top of the most popular Killers list. The Hillbilly, meanwhile, has now settled at a respectable 4% usage following his recent update.
After the introduction of the generator regression limit, we kept a close eye on the system to see how it affected both 3 gen (defending 3 generators for extended periods) and regular matches.
With this system in place, the amount of 3 gen matches fell from 10% of all matches to 4.5%. (Criteria: At least 400 seconds between fourth generator being powered and the end of the match.)
As for regular matches, it appears this mechanic rarely comes into play. Only around 1.4% of matches see at least one generator blocked, with an average of 3.5 kicks per match.
Who’s the best zombie killing machine – Survivors, or The Nemesis? The answer is not even close: The Nemesis has punched and whipped near ten times more zombies than Survivors.
Those zombies aren’t going down without a fight, they’ve attacked Survivors over 48 million times, an average of 1.74 per match.
We have a challenge for you: Let’s see how many zombies you can slay! No pressure, but the impending zombie apocalypse depends on it.
Until next time…

How the hell is Trapper and Doc with 4% pickrate. I almost never see them. Must be low MMR.
Also notice how most of characters that are free are also most played.
The Unknown stats are better than I thought, 64% winrate is pretty good (but also he was new so people died to him more than usual at the start).

"(but also he was new so people died to him more than usual at the start)."
But you can also consider that because he was new that people who played him were not as good when he released. I guess it evens out overall and he will probably stick with an above average Killrate.
But IMO the teleport alone already guarantees that Unknown is at least a B-Tier Killer, overall probably low/mid A-Tier.

3-gens were only in 10% of matches? I thought it was a lot more with all the complaining it had.

Honestly with the matches I've had against Unknown the stats make alot of sense. Most of the time whenever I try to dispel a hallucination they instantly teleport to it. Some set them up almost like hag traps around one half of the map, on edge map far enough away from a gen you don't see it but close enough it doesn't take long to get there and just patrol a 3 gen that way. I do have alot of fun going against him, but he does typically steamroll my games.
Also I love that even with the 3-gen blocks in place it still happens almost half as often as it did before ha.
Thanks for the fun facts!!

As always I am happy to see my boy Mikey keeping his spot in the top 10. Stay strong fellow stalky boys.
3 -
A lot of things killers have seem to be like that.
4 -
Still surprised how much community fell in love with Unknown because I didn't like him at all. Trying figure out what i'm missing with him for a while.

Keep the criteria in mind. 400 seconds between the 4th gen popping and the end of the match. 400 seconds is 6 and a half minutes. Also in some cases the killer may have a 4 gen which isn't counted in the stats. It also doesn't count the amount of times the survivors failed to break the three gen and died before that by being too aggressive which was and is a scenario that's pretty common.
8 -
Those are probably only the games which reach the point of 1 Gen remaining. So every game which got finished before this point has no chance to be in this statistic.
9 -
They're easy to play and base for console players. Also, Trapper is really not that rare at high MMR.
4 -
Is that last paragraph hinting at something L4D related? I'm coping

Rather TWD. We get a licensed Survivor after the DnD-Chapter.
2 -
Probably missing a braindead antiloop power looking at your pfp.
4 -
Hi fellow Artist hater! Calling killer with 5th lowest kill rate "braindead" at very least illogical, but not like i care too much.
4 -
Wow... One gen blocked in 1.4% of games throws a bit of shade at the ease of 8 regression events blocking a gen huh...
I didn't think it was cause for an issue myself, but that is a lot lower than I expected....
8 -
Cause the criteria they used is just a part of the whole 3-gen issue. So the actual 3-gen numbers are definitely significant higher.
3 -
Maybe. But I think lots of Killers have probably also moved away from the strategy (Skull Merchant notwithstanding). I personally used to fall back on defending a 3- gen, but now that I know I can't reliably do so, I just make sure to dump a death hook Survivor out of the game when only 2 gens are left.
These stats are certainly very interesting though. Surprised to see Billy fall to only 4% when he's got the magic combo of being both strong and fun to play as. 4% is respectable, I just thought it would be higher. I also haven't seen a lot of Wraiths, Doctors, or Shapes for a while and Ghostie's only returned to my games since the event started.

Can we talk about how awful Zombies are? They can barely get 1 hit a match always getting stuck on something and very rarely apply pressure. I would love it if their Detection and move speed addons became basekit and just rework the addons for nemesis benefits
1 -
First - I love when the devs feed us stats. So thank you.
Second - IMPENDING ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE??
2 -
Of course it gets lower, because any smart killers will stop using a perk that wastes regression events
Nothing surprising
2 -
Those two being free killers, relatively easy to learn, and console friendly to run (who make up the vast majority of the global playerbase) makes all the difference. I bet their usage would be even higher without high MMR numbers in there.

zombies get 1.74 hits per match. is this suppose to mean that nemesis is getting a rework/zombie buff? Otherwise This stat is very random.
3.5 gen kicked per match. that is with pop goes weasel being popular. Is this stat suppose to be saying that they buff gen-kicking for killer? 3.5 gen-kick is incredibly low. It is good show that gen-kicked is ultra-nerfed in 3 gens but what about buffing killer such that over-time gen regression is more relevant?
I am curious for what is % over-time gen regression that a killer on average gets per match? With 3.5 kicks, i imagine that it is like less than 25%. 10% requires a gen to be regressing for 36 seconds. What % of regression does the killer get over-time when using Surge/Pain res vs No regression perks? This would be so interesting to see how poor the killer base gen defence is. Just how bad is it?
1 -
OK, but Surge is still 8th most used Killer perk on Nightlight at 11%, and yeah that's user submitted data... but 8th? That's pretty high.
It was also a general perk for a long time while strangers Things was out of commission, so it's a perk a lot of the playerbase has access to. I imagine Surge is actually reasonably common in the official stats too... so the point stands... gen block is a lot lower than I would have expected.

Perhaps the North American servers and the Asia & EU servers are playing different games. Unknown pick rate of 10%? 4% for Doctors and Trappers? They are an endangered species and hardly seen. the 3Gen system item also seems to be looking at a different game. The theory is that a Gen with multiple Scourge Hooks or PoPs should not be completed and left until late game, so that the Killer has time to do nothing against the late game Gen.

Perhaps adding more zombies with recent developments allowing more players in the 2v8 mode?
2 -
@Peanits Why is it that survivors dont kill much more Zombies? Cause you butchered Head-On #freeheadon

The % of gens blocked can be quite misleading to some. At face value it leads people to believe the change hasn’t effected anything because barely any gens are getting to that point. However, it’s actually a self fulfilling prophecy as the entire reason the number is so low IS because the feature was implemented as well as all the gen kick perks being gutted which caused everyone to stop running those perks that would’ve caused them to be blocked. So in other words, if gen kick perks weren’t nerfed and the 3 gen feature wasn’t implemented you would see a drastically larger % of gens reaching the 8 regression events limit than what these stats are showing.
3 -
These statistics reflect that the limitation of regression events to eight has made killers need to be more careful not to have their kick or regression events blocked. Seeing spikes grow on a generator makes me feel like I'm being told, "You’re playing outside the rules!" which is very unpleasant. Generators in high-traffic areas are more likely to be blocked.
It's clear that the reduction of kick-based perks other than Eruption and Pop Goes the Weasel is related to this system. I believe this system is too excessive. At the very least, it should only activate when there are 4-5 generators left (from the survivors' perspective, 2-3 generators left).

Question when was this data started recording
Nvm didn't see the time line
0 -
Crazy in the time of 3 years nemi only got 49k zombie hits. I think it's time for him to get a rework
The time of data collected is tiny in the bottom right. Under nemi's box
WWait "Impending zombie apocalypse???" What you mean bhvr?

49 Million. Not 49k (thousand)

Trapper has to be rare at high MMR. He's not good enough to be up there.
1 -
Those killers who have mastered him, and are super strong players anyway, can thrive in any bracket.
1 -
3.5 gens kick per match and we got a 33% pop nerf, thats actually pretty insane
