Gens are completed too easily and fast

That's it, that's the topic. Add more skillchecks please, and maybe make them take longer to complete? Finishing a gen in 30 seconds with 1 or 2 skillchecks is the most boring thing ever

More skill checks would make them go by even faster, though.

Is this from a Survivor or Killer perspective? If gens take longer to complete, then it'd be even more boring for Survivors.

put 3 survivors workin on it... I had that flash grenade perk and the gen got completed before the perk charged to 3/4...

    both

killer: they are done too quickly.

survivor: they are done too easily and they get no skillchecks which makes it extremely boring... The fact that a challenge with "succeed at 5 kill checks" takes me 3 gens to complete, and not because I fail any, says more than enough...

EDIT: idk what got bugged, but this was a reply to @crypticgirl

kinda, my dream would be something like a perpetual Merciless Storm, but instead of exploding, each time there's a fail a bar charges, and when it gets full, it does explode. Something like that. It could be done if the devs cared about it

Ah yes, so 3 survivors have to dedicate whole build and do some kind of mumbo-jumbo shenanigans to do gen in 30 seconds, the question is: what are you doing to allow this?

You do realize that it's far, far better for survivors to split up on gens in almost every circumstance?

All it takes is the killer strolling by and all 3 of you have to leave, and likely lose a bunch of progress to boot.

Look at it this way, let's assume survivors start this scenario already on a gen and they start at the exact same time: If 3 survivors are on separate gens, 3 gens are done in 90 seconds. If 3 survivors group up on one gen, it gets done in ~43 seconds, then they travel together to the next gen, 43 more seconds, then the third gen together is 43 more seconds. So instead of doing 3 gens in 90 seconds, you can do 3 gens in 129 seconds, which doesn't even include any of the required travel time for the group.

And in the grouped up case, of the killer sees you together at any point you have to stop doing anything useful entirely. If you're separated, the killer can only interrupt one of you at a time, and the other 2 gens still progress.

A few seconds over 30, but:

Not that I'm complaining, Hyperfocus + Stake Out + Built to Last are in a few of my core builds as I get too bored doing generators without them. It's also quite a bit of perk and item dedication to pull, leaving one susceptible to being tunneled out or hit-and-run strategies; but on the flip side, you can do this to 3 generators per match pretty reliably by yourself.

Anywho just wanted to showcase (using someone else's short) that it's possible since it was asked for.

    Damn, that's a speedrun.

Funny is you don't need multiple survivors running this build, just 1 is usually enough and other survivors just need to do is get this one from of chase. It's really boring for them tho.

The root of the gen rush is an environment where survivors can easily work on completing gens without being wary of killers by knowing the know-how of the game. There are two ways to solve this: simply create an environment where the chase ends early, or give survivors a task other than completing a gen.

The Cenobite provided the best example in this regard.

I think the gen system needs a shake up. It is bad this anyway you look at the current state of it. As a survivor it's boring as hell. As a killer by the time you usually (emphasis on USUALLY) catch a survivor who is experienced in looping 1 or 2 gens fly by minimum. I think the gen system should be a treasure huntish game but then depending on the solution killers and survivors may need to be hindered. I don't say there is no skill in either role but sometimes on both sides feels like you don't need functioning brain cells.
