Dbd is horror game but that not means all characters have to be from horror franchises. Characters have to fit horror vibe of dbd.

Example - what horror movie/game is Dredge from? Give me a title.

Vecna as Lich is fitting horror vibe perfectly, and his backstory fits this better than backstory of doctor, Hag or Wesker.

Whether it "fits" or not, new licenses bring in those fan bases to the game. This game is nearing 10 years old, it's ok for the devs to experiment a little.

Besides, the devs stated that getting DnD was sort of a passion project for them. Although I'm not familiar with DnD in the slightest, what I've seen doesn't seem unfitting for DBD

    • if we have Trickster and the "merchant lady"... I don't understand why Vecna wouldn't be fine🤣

Nah this reply is the L take.

You are not the only person on the planet and there are thousends of people who love all the collabs.

Ignores the fact that thousands of people also loved Dbd's old tone and its limited scope to crossing over with horror icons.

I'm not saying that liking dbd's new tone and crossovers is wrong but telling people to "just leave" when they are talking about something they liked being changed is the actual L take here.

collabs bring in new players, I can see the game still being very successful.

RE5 was definitely not the basis of the entirety of Project W/The RE Collab as a whole considering only Wesker was in RE5 and Rebecca was only a DLC character in a mini game

if you dont like it, dont play live service games.
Besides that, you dont have to engage with it.

As long as they keep the horror thematic it's fine

Better get used to it. There is a limited amount of big horror franchises they can bring to the game. They will definitely start expanding into other areas once they run out of horror franchises. At the end of the day this is all about money and I feel like they would absolutely add something like Darth Vader if they could pull it off. I personally am not bothered by "silly" collabs. I don't take the game seriously enough to actually get upset over something so ridiculous.

I have been playing RPGs since Advanced Dungeon and Dragons 2nd Edition, and you are not speaking for us all. - thank you.

I can still think for my self, and im well aware that this is not a DnD season im launching when starting up DBD, i have other games i play what i want to play RPGs. (ideally with real people).

I think DnD is a fun add to DBD, and i will buy it at day 1.

(if it was not clear, - i like both asymetrical chase games and RPGs).

I will never understand why people get so angry over Nicholas Cage who has done a number of iconic horror films being in DBD.

Besides that I don't really care if they stretch the definition of horror a little bit to accommodate more licences as we can probably count on one hand the number of BIG licenses out there for them to get. For sake of longevity it's kind of a necessity.
