Survivor unable to be picked up, forces endgame collapse to end the game

I was playing against a Vecna when my teammate was about to pick me up off the floor, he then used his skeleton ability and hit us both. I was then unable to recover, unable to be picked up, and my bleeding out bar wasn't moving either. This forced me and the killer to just wait out Endgame Collapse since he closed hatch. My guess is this had something to do with the attack hitting me as soon as my teammate picked me up, but I really don't know.
