Tunneling Vecnas

Has anyone else been experiencing this? All of my Venca killers have been hardcore tunneling, adept or not. They hook a survivor, leave, and then fly immediately back to the hook with his ability. This is usually paired with something like Devour or Make Your Choice. Almost all of my Vecnas are like this and its making it really frustrating to like him because I think he has a really neat ability and design that I would hate to have gutted because he's just really good at tunneling off the hook.

I don't think Vecna's power particularly has a problem with tunnelling. Fly doesn't go that far and has a cooldown at the end of it.

Killers like Hillbilly and Pyramid Head are far better at tunnelling.

    He does

Im copy pasting part of a comment i made yesterday

"It's unfortunate but the best strategy against good squads ive found has been to tunnel any player without boots from the get-go because they can't have the mage hand boots and just trying to get downs with flight of the dammed, fly and orb is a futile task but you can still easily win a 3v1 against survivors decked out with good gear"

The items are too impactful and his kit is not strong enough to justify them so you tunnel the players with weak ones to get the best results.

Edit-Its not that hes good at tunneling he is a weak killer, he is just incentivesed to tunnel because of his unique mechanics eg targeting survivors with weaker items/execution of players with eye or hand when after 2nd stage leading to tunneling them off hook being the best play.

Nah, killers overall are just in turbo tunnel slug mode. Lucky that you're getting any Vecnas I'm over here pulling Twins, Skull Merchant and Huntress lol

Kinda if you want to believe you can sit in denial.

but tunneling has been the most effective strategy for almost all killers for years and the new killer is being pushed into a direction where tacitly being incentivised by making it his best to a further degree than most is bad (even if he is a weak killer) and as my post explains he is incentivised to tunnel.

He does not encourage or reward it as much as characters like Pyramid Head but certainly more than something like demo and clown (who I think are pretty close to his power level) so players on him will tunnel more than players on Demo and Clown.

The most extreme example I have is yesterday I needed someone out of the game so I forced an artefact holder without mage hand boots who was left on the hook for too long to 2nd then retrieved the artifact off them after tunnelling them off hook (can't ds that can you).

Bluntly I don't like him as a killer player I want killers like wesker, blight and oni ect he just doesn't hit the spot I want as a killer but I don't like being the survivor against him is great either because as of right now a lot of vecnas tunnel.
