The Lich Flight Of The Damned Proc

I had a game where the Lich used his FOTD and it instantly hit me with no animation, no sound, and no visual warning until AFTER I was hit (The purple balls where the Skeletons are summoned).
The Lich at the end of the match argued that they "Instant Cast" the spell and that because the Skeletons Appear on top of you they deal instant damage despite not physically appearing till.
I think this is a heavy design flaw, as their was no visual indication, no sound, no animation at all. Just an instant down basically. I found it extremely irritating, as this kind of creates a lose lose scenario depending on the tile you're on, and given the fact he was using double spell cool-down add-ons, it felt even more frustrating. I get that you can "Just crouch" but there's times where it's literally imperative that you keep moving, so you end up with a Hobson's Choice a la The Spirit.
To me, this reads as a Bug venturing heavily towards exploit 9Which I referred to as such in endgame), because there's no physical indicator of the attack, nor has it even started the animation. It's just a wall of Damage immediately appearing that The Killer can place arbitrarily within a tile loop so avoiding it is impossible.

Also, as a Side gripe, you also receive damage if the Skeletons appear projected In front of you, so if The Lich misplaces the spell, you still get damaged even if it was put in front of you and they fly ahead of you.
