REP System

Hopefully this is clear enough.

So, I had an idea recently while discussing something similar with someone on the forums. Like a relationship system or a person rep system where you could see if someone was toxic to you in the past. You would be able to mark people with colors (like red:toxic/mean, green:nice) and it'll have a green or red dot next to their character and for the killer's case, in the corner of the screen. There could be more colors to signify other things, but that way you can tell if you're getting in a match with someone who have been toxic towards you in the past and can maybe avoid that.

Lets be homest those kind of system would find way more abuse in the sense of "Good killer/survivor = dodge".

@ChesterTheMolester I don't think that many would actually use it like that, but to avoid toxic people. I think only the ones you would want to avoid would use it like that. The ones who flame in end chat.

@powerbats They have an issue with that due to people being able to see other's IP. I'm sure there's a way to incorporate in in-game system based on profiles rather than IP, which wouldn't be as dangerous.

Well then you'd still be doding based upon someone the same as ip only much more accurate at that point and while some would use it to legitimately avoid toxic players on both sides. It'd get abused by some on both sides just as they do with MLGA now due to getting outplayed by either side, outfits, items etc.

I'd think it'd only really affect the people blocking the lobbies (if they go block happy). If someone's sensable with how they block, they're likely not to see any affect and the opposing people are likely to not see an affect, either. Regardless, maybe they could test it for a period of time and see how it plays out? It may help with the toxicity of the game.

I think it'd just get abused as it's currently done with MLGA and lobby dodging and human nature being what it is people would get tempted to abuse it. You've also got the issue with confirmation bias and negative feedback with memories.

You tend to remember the bad games and not the good games more so say you have a really bad game but the next isn't. You'll probably remember that game as being bad and thus want to block people who you think were toxic.

It's worth giving it a try, though, to see if that would indeed be the case. I usually see the bad game as bad and a good game as good. I think you're thinking of how people are more likely to remember the bad than the good. So, you'll have 9 good matches, but 1 who's toxic and teabagging and stuff and that's the only thing you think of. If it does negatively impact lobbies, we can take it off, but there's no way to tell if it'd actually be abused if we weren't to give it a try and I highly doubt it'd affect players who don't mark anyone or mark very few as a dodge. Maybe even have it an automatic thing where you don't go into lobbies with people you mark as red that way it doesn't mess up a lobby. I would think that would be doable. Otherwise if it's a killer, just boot the survivor and if it's survivor, boot the survivor.
