Accidental camping

So I was playing against a swf and right after I hooked someone I kicked a gen then heard someone run in for the unhook so I went back and hit them when they unhooked and chased them for awhile before leaving the chase and doing something else. After the match I was hit with "Baby killer camp fail using Op Freddy". For one "Op Freddy" like what- Second what they called "camping" was me being close enough to get the unhook hit, maybe it was a camp? I really don't know if I was actually considered camping or not.

Most people's definition of camping is sitting near the hook WITHOUT reason.

Seeing/hearing other survivors running to do the save is a very good reason to go back to the hook/hook area.

Sounds like you hooked, kicked a gen, and they were already running in for the save before you even had time to leave. That's not camping at all.

Play however you want. Camping isn’t against the rules and sometimes the only information you have left is the hook.
You’ll never appease your opponents so don’t even try bending backward for them.

I mean look at you. They have you coming over to the forums all nice and polite hoping for validation that you were being considerate of them. And without hesitation or thought they flame you in game chat. That’s an abusive relationship.

I guarantee you, Survivors generally lose no sleep over Killer fun the way some Killers lose sleep over Survivor fun.

Why would you care about rules made up by your opponents anyways. If you give in to that it might come to a point where they make such ridiculous rules there's no way you can win without breaking one.

It's simply their excuse for playing badly. Using that unwritten Survivor's Guide Book every whim when things gone bad for a survivor. They don't realize they are Unsafe Rescue Rushing. Don't pay attention to endgame chat. Sore Losers will always whine.

They didn't flame me in endgame chat we were all on console so they invited me to a party and yelled at me in that, I won't be joining random parties anymore.

It’s already at that point. Killer players are apparantly the anti-christ reincaranated. Funny how everything is the Killer’s fault when Survivors make bad plays right in front of you.

So it’s the Killer’s fault a Survivor played bad… but also the Killer’s fault if the Killer played “bad”? And Killer players are the entitled ones? You win as Killer but still suck, lose and still suck. Survivors aren’t the bully/psycho role? Hm…

I know both roles complain about the other but from my experience Killer players are overwhelmingly more considerate to Survivors than the other way around.

My point still stands. They were out of line completely due to their entitlement that you play to their advantage over your own objective. That’s how bad the gaslighting has gotten. They know and definitely don’t care.

You can't really accidentally camp or tunnel. By definition those things need to be deliberate. Otherwise it's just bad luck or a poor decision by another player.

Sounds more like their team mate farmed them off hook. Most killers will kick a nearby gen before moving off so the unhooker came in pretty quick. Nothing I hate more than when team mates unhook me when the killer is right there. I'm actually petty enough that if the killer goes for me I'll let them down me immediately just to deny the farmer their safe unhook/emblem points.

Oh bud, people are weird. I've gotten called trash as a surv teammate for not hook rushing. It's not camping if you're gen kicking, trapping, hagging, etc., it's not camping.

Was down to 1 generator in a game playing sniper huntress and knew I needed to get someone out so I tunneled a trade and did just that to gain momentum and… low and behold it was a content creator that was completely confused on why I would get someone out of the game at that point by tunneling someone out.

So I'm just gonna say this so even everyone in the back can hear it.

If you play fair? Expect to get burned and people will be remorseless because they know you will always try to be exactly that.

Play how it makes you enjoy the game and if you feel like you're in a situation where you need to take a trade or you're getting hard pressed on generators? Then you probably are.

So do what you gotta do to even the odds and if they don't like it well then I'm sure they'll find a way to move the yardstick in their favor that you were doing something wrong.

Kind of on the fence with this. I think every pvp game with a community is going to have etiquette expectations, even if devs don't explicitly state it as the rules. Every community has some version of "just because you can doesn't mean you should". None of us exist in a bubble if we play this game. Everything we do has an impact. Nobody is the main character. That said, certain times definitely call for certain tactics. I'm probably more likely to follow the community etiquette standards, but I know not everyone will. That's 99% of this forums discussion basis lol.
