Movement Speed Modifiers, Undetectable, and Aura Reading, Oh My

This might definitely be a hot take, but Im getting tired of how a lot of perks for Survivor and Killer have been over the past few months.

  • Movement Speed is something important, the slightest modifier can make the world of difference between getting a hit or not, so which such an impact, I would expect them to be using sparingly, and be hard for either side to use effectively due to limitations (in ways that keep it in check without outright gutting the perk).
  • Likewise, Undetectable is a bit more fine, although, in my opinion, is far stronger than people give it credit for. The ability to outright deny the opposing side information can be insanely valuable, and allows for more interesting plays against teams since you remove a majority of tracking elements used against you.
  • And Aura Reading. Aura Reading is also generally fine, it's mostly information based perks that any side can use and helps in certain situations. They can help either side in the macro game but are balanced by the fact that using them trades directly helpful perks for improved decision making.

My main issue with all of these, however, is the over abundance of implementation.

It feels like for literally any action in the game, you can at least activate 1 or more of these effects. The over implementation has resulted in a heavy saturation in which you will most likely come across at least one of these effects in the match of DBD from either Survivor or Killer.

As for the effects I deemed to be "generally fine", options and variety is nice but it also feels like less variety is actually created from this, instead we have dozens of perks that do the same thing, and people are generally just going to take the perk with the easier activation condition instead of anything.

  • Let's take a perk like Dark Devotion for example. For a really long time it was unique in the sense that it not only provided Undetectable, but artificially applied the Terror Radius to another player. Unforeseen is quite literally just the same perk but "kick a Generator", and it's just an outright better version of the perk with an easier activation condition.

Less variety is created from this, niche perks are made more niche, and the list of perks that do the exact same thing but slightly different gets longer and longer.

I honestly don't have any problem with any of those perks, they are much more fun than running Pain Res, Pop.
bHVR has worked hard to provide real good alternatives to Gen Slow Down Meta, honestly we should thank them instead.
