If these characters were added today they'd probably be voiced
Bill, Freddy, Laurie, Steve, Nancy, maybe even Ghost face and Pig to a extent would probably be voiced if they released nowadays, but they were all released before voicelines were in the game which sucks because I would love hearing Freddy yell swears at people for me.

I don't think I'd want Bill voiced tbh. Dbd Bill is iconic in his own right, in fact I daresay that dbd is Bill's retirement home but nobody can replace Bills OG actor, RIP

Pig didn't even get her theme, while Myers, the first licensed killer, has his theme. So no, later=better logic does not apply to BHVR.

Themes and everything have to do with the license holder. Bhvr didn't want voicelines back then thinking voicelines didn't fit the game, I'm not saying later = better I'm saying if they came later they might've had voicelines.

Voicelines also have to do with the license holders. Just remember what Pinhead used to do once you opened his box.

Sure, but voiced survivors are pretty much the default nowadays. The DND characters were the only survivors to NOT have voice acting since Vittorio, i.e. a year and a half.

Not saying they don't I'm saying if the licenses happened nowadays Bhvr might have at least tried to get voicelines, back when they did get added Bhvr didn't want voicelines in the game period

To be fair, Myers was a very long standing exception. No killer had a unique chase theme apart from Myers up until like Demo/Oni.

Personally I'm feeling the voicelines are starting to become a bit overdone - Vecna definitely didn't need them, imo. But good god would voicelines save Freddy from the sad old man corner he's in right now. I know it's the wrong license, but the man desperately needs a personality. Every time I hear Chucky go off, I look at Freddy and think "what if…"
Laurie with lines would be good fun, too.

The DnD survivors do have voice lines though? I've heard Aestri talk and she hums the DBD theme too

No that's right, they do speak too. So actually with that in mind, voiced characters are the default now.
