Getting stuck in portal on Forgotten Ruins

Running through the portal behind the beholder with killer in toe. I went through the portal, the killer came through the portal right behind me, I got stuck in the portal. He was able to move around freely, I could not move, he could not see me, his zombies could not see me. I had three birds, he still could not find me. I had to sit there until the end game timer ran out and the entity claimed me.
