Nintendo teases Horror Game

Who is Emio?

So. Kinda weird but am excited, Nintendo teases a first-party actual horror game?!? Not something like Luigi’s Mansion.

What do y’all think? Obviously not much to discuss here as it’s just a teaser..

Possible collaboration with DbD may be even possible (though probably unlikely as Nintendo might be kinda like Sony and not be as willing to have their IP on other platforms)

Very intrigued by the timing. Supposedly, the new console is coming next year, so if this is still for the Switch it seems like a very late announcement.

Also the fact that this is the first time they’ve teased something (First Party?) like this in recent memory.

Yeah everything seems weird about this which makes it more interesting. Could of course be something like BotW where it’s for both consoles but would be weird to have a new -and for Nintendo very off-genre- IP to be like this.

As for the teaser I think it just works very well with the horror setting and wouldn’t have the same impact for Nintendos general first party titles

When Nintendo do horror-related games, they are often rather pleasant surprises. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and Luigi's Mansion are games which have been very enjoyable and - especially in the case of the former - groundbreaking.

Emio: The Smiling Man could be another little gem in Nintendo's collection.
