Quick Question about the Stridor Change
Will Stridor being additive also mean that similar addons that apply it's effect like Jump Rope and Coarse Stone will also be made additive?
If not, I'd really love to see this done.

This only applies to Stridor, not to any addons.

I guess no. It mentions only stridor

Surely they would, if not then definitely needs to be told by the devs that it should do the same effect as stridor

IMO Add Ons should not counter Perks.

That's a shame. Could it be considered to apply to addons, as these kinds of addons are pretty ineffective as it stands?

of course we'll take the feedback to the design team, the decision is with them however.

While this is a valid point I think with the amount of perks and addons that exists its impossible for them to not interact at some point. Like addons that highlight blood technically counter iron will too, but its not that the addon is made for that.
My point is we just have so many perks and addons that its impossible to not have them interact.

But why not rather wish for those Add Ons to be turned into something more useful? They are bad, even with Iron Will back at 100%, simply because they are very niche und you will always get value out of other Add Ons.
If they would change all the Add Ons which increase grunts of Pain to counter Iron Will (which includes a Nurse Add On, sadly…), they would still be bad and only have a niche use. They should rather get new effects.
Sure, it is impossible. Completely agree. But if it is obvious that this would happen, it should not happen. I just think that Add Ons are less of an investment than Perks, so equipping Add Ons to counter Perks is a bad thing IMO. I also said this about Exhaustion Add Ons long ago, especially when they were more accessible (e.g. the old brown Add On of Huntress).
(I mean, imagine the Devs would bring back old, old Ruin (red Skill Checks) and keep the Instruction-Add On (no Skill Checks) in the game… Would be equally as bad)

The addons should be made additive too. If killers want to use an entire addon slot to make it easier to hear survivors… then it should actually make it easier to hear survivors.

Honestly with how weak those addons are they could use the help.

I agree, for different reason but I agree. Even as a hardcore killer main I do not hate exhaustion addons, I despise them, same as mangled and a little bit blindness addons. They are the lazyest design and just make an addon that could be creative or change gameplay do something a perk should be doing.
Also yes it stands to reason addons should be weaker than perks but saddly many aspects of this game are overlooked in development or testing. Releasing perks that totally break when paired eith an old perk/addon or that are outright do the same as old perks with less requirements. But its a truth we will see in dbd, these oversights in development are pretty common.

If I am running Stridor AND one of these addons, how does the multiplicative modifier apply?
Modifiers such as:
[ (Survivor Grunts of Pain) - (Iron Will) ] x (Course Stone) ] + (Stridor) = ?
[ (100 - 100) x 1.5 ] + 50 = 50%
Would make them pointless compared to:
[ (Survivor Grunts of Pain) - (Iron Will) ] + (Stridor) ] x (Course Stone) = ?
[ (100 - 100) + 50 ] x 1.5 = 75%
I do not think the calculations for determining the Survivor's Grunts of Pain has ever been public disclosed (I could be wrong), but the changing the position of things has a massive impact on what number pops out.
Removing Stridor should always result in 0% in the calculations I provided, so further clarification might be required (if it isnt too much to ask, I understand that you guys are really busy, so if you are unable to, I understand 👍️).

All the multiplicative modifiers should happen first, then the additive modifier happens afterwards. That is the only way that Stridor could be guaranteed to result in more than 0% sound, if a survivor has multiple silent sound perks.

If you take the calculations I presented and remove the "x 1.5", Stridor will always result in 50%, so to say that "that is the only way" is incorrect. It is A way of accomplishing 50%, but not the ONLY way.
And I think Mandy's post does not clarify if these addons will stack with Stridor's effect or not, it only mentions how the additive change only affects Stridor, and the addons will remain multiplicative.
(I dont want this to come off as rude, of course, and I hope it does not come off as such. Im just wanting further clarification from a source that I can more accurately rely on.)

In order for Stridor to happen after all the survivor perks, but before any other killer perk, someone would need to go through the extra effort to very specifically program that to happen. Which would mean that even though BHVR is unwilling to make the killer sound addons additive, they would still go through the extra effort to make sure the killer sound addons would always function when used with Stridor?
