dont try to directly hit the survivors with the bottles.
try to predict their movement and cut off their path with them instead. make them run into the open field and you can get them. the bottles are also great for shortening loops, as they make survivors run slower than normal, denying them the ability to run around the same pallet / window many times.however, he rarely has any map pressure, so make sure to change that with perks to slow down the gen repair speed (e.g. Thanatophobia or Hex:Ruin).
otherwise he is a very strong killer and you just need to practice him a for some time.0 -

Got a 3k, but i can only go so far with two-three perkslots(yes i know i should gain with another and pour into thw bloodweb but i like learning as i play)0 -
Throw bottles ahead of survivors to cut off areas and incentivize them to go another way or head to a weaker looping area.
When you get to a pallet loop, throw gas at each side of the survivor so they're forced to run through one side. You can usually hit them before they reach the pallet, unless they use Dead Hard, which you can deny with the yellow Solvent Jug add-on.
Don't reload in the middle of a chase. Get to a loop, stand under the pallet and start reloading. They either abandon the loop, in which case you cancel your reload and go after them for a hit, or they sit there and wait until you have all your bottles and can start throwing them down to hit them before the loop.
When you pick up the obsession, throw down a gas bottle first, pick them up, and then stand in the gas for a few seconds. If they use Decisive Strike they'll usually be slowed by the gas, allowing you to catch them a little faster. If you're running Enduring, D-Strike will be almost useless unless they are downed in a perfect spot.As for perks, I'd recommend perks that slow down the game and perks that improve your power in a chase. That's all Clown is good for so double down on it.

Been running him with pop till i can get ruin or Thana up and running. Getting 2ks mostly.

So Hex: Ruin is very helpful, or other perks that help you with map pressure, like Discordance.

All Killers have the same strategy: Tape face to keyboard + Bang mouse with head = Profit

We dont need your negativity!
I just started playing Clown too and my first game I didnt even pay attention to survivors. All game, I just threw bottles at random crap trying to get used to the aim. Hysterically, when the gates were finally opened, the survivors were still hanging around the killer teabagging and whatnot, and I actually got a kill. LOL! Sometimes I think they wanna die.

What's so bad about the Clown? He's one of the best chasers in the game, aside from Nurse maybe.

You must have misread the post. He said he bought the Clown, not the Legion.

I dont think so...
Low Tiers: CLOWN, Leatherface, Wraith, Freddy, Legion.
If a survivor TRY to counter his power its really easy, the max. u will get is a pallet drop sooner which doesnt guarantee a hit. He has NO end game and is just another wraith on open areas.

Get addons. His base sucks.

Throwing a bottle up high at a tree or a building will expand your gas cloud over a wide area. Stbfl is pretty good on him. Exhaustion addons will trigger any survivor. Hindered survivor cannot fast vault. Hitting a survivor with a bottle directly will interrupt their action for a split second(such as opening the gate). You can prevent survivor from getting distance at some loops while you reload. Has one of the best counters for ds.

Hmm interesting. Personally I would rate Clown mid tier, maybe even mid-high tier. His map pressure is probably the worst out of all killers, but in my opinion he is really strong against loops. I mean the thing is of course survivors can just wait at pallets, but that would mean they'd be wasting a lot of pallets very fast. if you try to loop the clown though, chances are very high you'll get hit by him.

He is on the top of low tiers meaning that he is almost a mid tier, however, with luck The Pig can delay the game and also guarantee kills on the late game and The Doctor can find survivors very easily, prevent some loops and delay the game a bit, he is also much better with addons.
The list is based on a killer being played the best he can against Rank 1 survivors who all know how to play and counter each killer very well, no addons nor offerings were used, only the best perk builds for the specific killer.
There are enough pallets on the map to survivors gen rush and leave even if u mannage to force a drop and break them ASAP, the fact that vaulting pallets isnt affected by the bottles makes it very easy to loop or keep yourself away from The Clown, u also gotta reload, giving the survivors even more time to run away...
I could keep describing how weak he is, but anyone can probably test that by following the second paragraph rules and playing about 50 matches (after learning how to play the killer very well) on Rank 1 swarmed by CWFs.

I recommend Monitor and Abuse on him.

Best Tier Ever 5Ever - FatMan (@_@)
Clown is good, especially with his hindering effect forcing slow vaults and one of the better teachables in the game in terms of both fun/function.
I mean, it's not like his power alone can shut down any loops that a survivor refuses to leave after dropping a pallet (guaranteeing a hit), force early/unsafe drops that can result in a hit, shut down window abuse, straight up win chases, prevent unhooks while you close in, and be reloaded while patrolling/after securing a down.
Nope, not at all.0
