UnMerge, UnLink or Disable Cross Progression
i need help UnMerging, UnLinking or Disabling Cross Progression from my Steam and Microsoft account so i can play with my nephew. you see i thought Cross Progression meant "Share" inventory. not 2 Accounts becoming 1. in fact no where in the entire FAQ did it say that. and thats what i thought it was. i want to have 2 accounts so my nephew can enjoy playing the game with me. rather than him watching me play. so i literally have no problem purchasing the same DLC twice.
also i dont want to delete my Microsoft account because i have $400 worth of DLC on a Lord of the Rings game which i dont want to lose because the game is no longer available. meaning i wont be able to install again. so please if anyone can help. id appreciated. keep in mind i dont have this game on my Xbox rather my Microsoft Account.
AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED
the connection to you Behaviour account has failed for the following reason: You are unable to unlink your Xbox account due to having 1 or more games currently merged. Please unmerge your games and retry this action.

Synchronizing the accounts means they are the same on each platform and cannot be played separately anymore. You are not able to unsync platforms from your Behaviour account once you have synced accounts. Player Support is also unable to circumvent this restriction on request.

well you cant do cross progression without synching the game. it wont let you. and they literally say sharing. i feel like i got duked bad

That is correct. Cross-Progression allows you to synchronize different elements of your inventory on all the participating platforms where you play into the one BHVR account.
Cross-progression is optional but cannot be undone once the action is performed.

if i would have known what i know now. i would have never would have done it. i have no problem buying the same DLC on both accounts. i feel like behaviour should have said something and let us decide if we wanted to or not. because i play this game with my little nephew. but thanks on answering. i dont know if i should open a new account on microsoft or just not play anymore

It is stated as such though, isn’t it?
Syncing allows players to unify their Dead by Daylight accounts
From:
https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/28143341034644-Cross-Progression-Release-FAQ
it’s also been like that before with linking Steam and Epic (and Stadia) accounts.Assuming you can just link/synch accounts that would still stay separate accounts would be kinda exploitable.
what exactly did you expect to be stated in the FAQ so that you would have been better informed?0 -
i read the FAQ and i didnt read that part of the FAQ only thing i saw was if you can Unlink Accounts. and the proof that Behaviour even says that its a screen shot of the website. look. it says you can and it will be brought back to the original state prior to Linking or Cross Progressing account. in fact it even says that you can Disable The Link Account. i didnt see anywhere that you cant Unlink or Disable Accounts.
i wouldnt have done if it said anywhere you could. plus this is my first time doing Cross Progression.

Behavior screwed up my stuff as well! It said I'd have to wait a day to resync a new account and now I can't sync it at all. The cross progression I was waiting for and I can't even use it. So do I have to wait 60 days or am i inevitably unable to play DBD on the PS4 with cross progression?

you only read the old FAQ about linking account where only Steam and Epic were available.
The FAQ about the syncing really states directly that you can’t undo the process. Explicitly. Multiple times.
same link as my post above. What is the difference between Linking and Syncing my Behaviour Account?
Linking will take the account(s) of your choice, on PC & Consoles, and create the link between that account and your Behaviour Account. If you have not also synced your account, you can unlink the provider account for a different one, however, there is a 60 day waiting period before you can link a different account of that same platform again. If you wish to re-link the original provider account, you will be able to do so without a delay.
