Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Ideas to make 2v8 more fun (suggesting a rule to compete for the most points)

Sorry, I'm not good at speaking English.

Compared to the 1v4 mode, I felt that 2v8 wasn't a mode that offered the thrill of fair battle, but rather had more of a party game feeling, where players could enjoy the chaos in a more casual way.
Compared to 2v8, 1v4 is easier to judge the situation, and chases tend to be one-on-one battles of skill, so I think it is easier to enjoy clever play and successful chases in 1v4.
2v8 might be better adjusted to emphasize the fun that 1v4 can't provide, in other words, to make it more casual and enjoyable.

For example, rather than a competition to see "how many survivors can escape and how many survivors the killer can kill", why not change the 2v8 rules to a competition to see "how many points the survivors and killers can earn within the time limit"?
Below are more specific ideas for this rule.

  • "Killers points" increase when the Killer deals damage to or downs a Survivor.
  • Survivors can revive infinitely, without ever being ejected from the game, no matter how many times they are killed.
  • "Survivors points" are increased when the survivor repairs generators or successful long chase.
  • Repaired generators will revert to "repairable generators" after a certain amount of time. (The generators become a device for earning points, not for powering the gate)
  • When a certain amount of time has passed since the start of the game, the team with the most points will be the winner. (Maybe this rule could be made more interesting. For example, after a certain amount of time has passed, the Endgame Collapse could be triggered, allowing survivors to escape through the gates or hatches, allowing the Killer to kill survivors permanently. Team or individual player earns more points, the more advantageous it will be during the Endgame Collapse in some way.)

In addition to the basic rules above, I think the following bonus points elements will make the game even more enjoyable.

  • A Survivor who has been alive for the long time becomes an Obsession. If the killer succeeds in killing an Obsession Survivor, the killers will get a big point as a bonus.
  • An event may occur where any of the generators will transform into a "special generator" for a certain period of time. If a survivor successfully repairs the special generator, they will get a big point as a bonus.
