Why doesn't 2v8 count towards Killer/Survivor grade?

I like to try get Iri grade each month, especially if the next chapter is on the horizon, I am now really disappointed to find out that I can't get any progress or emblem pips while playing 2v8 mode.

Even worse, even if I decide I want to skip out on this super fun gamemode, normal queues are affected aswell since EVERYONE wants to try the new game mode. Please consider allowing us to gain grade progress.
