My Thoughts On The 2v8 Gamemode
Before you continue reading, Id like to say that the 2v8 Gamemode definitely is designed to be more oriented towards a casual audience, and that is perfectly fine, so as a result this suggestion mostly comes from the perspective of a more "casual" place than a "competitive" place.
Now that we got that out of the way, time to move onto the actual post.
One thing that was already addressed early on is that this is going to be a testing or demo period so things can become more refined, as a result, the Killer selection will be small to start out and expand as time goes on. This is, in my opinion, a good idea, it gives BHVR time to iron out the kinks and issues.
That being said, I hope this is addressed beyond just the Killer end. Survivor gameplay does not really have much variety. The classes we have cover the basic "needs" for a Survivor, but at the same time it also has little to no fun interactivity with the Killer or other Survivors.
I dont think players are foaming at the mouth with excitement because Great Skill Checks now grant 3% extra progress or they heal 35% faster, so I do hope we get more classes that focus on more fun ways of interacting with the game. I think this heavily shows with the queue incentives being +450% on Survivor pretty much at all times, there really isnt no enough interesting or fun aspects to incentivize playing Survivor.
I also think the maps could use a bit of work. Some maps are really big and spaced out, which makes sense. But some of the map variants are just normal DBD maps or slightly altered but not enough to really be noticeable. Sometimes it can lead to situations where the Killers have a way easier time snowballing because the maps are smaller or a harder time snowballing because the maps are larger. I think the map sizes can general be addressed to fine a more consistent area that is fun for both sides.
Overall, I think for the early testing or demo period for the gamemode, it already has a really solid foundation, I mostly just wanted to talk about some things that I feel like should be addressed.
