There is no solution to long killer queues

You can increase the BP bonus to 1000% and it won't change anything, especially since bloodpoints are almost useless at this point and you don't even need it for 2v8. People are going to play the role they strongly prefer. The most surprising thing to me isn't that killers have long queues now, it's that queues were somehow stabilized and nearly instant for so long in this game.

Of course they could scrap the idea of permanent 2v8 to "solve" the problem, but that doesn't seem likely seeing how popular it is. It's only been out 2 days and already revitalized the game completely.

It's interesting because this same type of situation happened in another game, World of Warcraft, so I'm getting deja vu. They came out with a queue system for arena pvp, 3v3, 1 healer 2 dps per team. The problem is almost nobody wanted to play healer, so dps had queues up to 30 minutes. It would take a radical change to solve the problem, like allowing all dps to fight each other without a healer.

It's now been nearly 2 years and you know what the company did to solve the role shortage? Absolutely nothing. The devs were unwilling to take radical measures to solve the problem. DPS are still waiting in 30 minute queues to this day.

the fix is to find some way to force people to play survivor. You’d think with how ‘OP’ that role is, more people would flock to it—especially in a game mode where the chance for victory for the ‘OP’ role is doubled.

The only way to fix the queue discrepancy would be to make survivor appealling to play in 2v8, which is just not possible without restructuring the fundamentals of how chases work. Being chased from two directions leaves you with little to no options, because DbD was never designed with that in mind. I just can't see this ever working to be honest.

That's the radical solution I was talking about. Many people were saying the exact same thing in World of Warcraft regarding the healer shortage, "just make healer more fun to play". It never happened because the devs didn't want to change the fundamentals of the game.
