2 v 8 not loading when both killers

My friend (xbox series X) and I (Nintendo Switch non OLED) were trying to load into a 2 v 8 with both of us as killers and it just hangs after you click ready when it’s “loading in survivors”. I believe we waited 2 minutes, 3 minutes and 5 minutes and then gave up. When going in as survivors it is fine and loads relatively quickly.
